    Car jerking/smoke

    Hi there,

So after I park my car overnight or for a few hours and I turn it on, when the car is started. It sounds like a lawnmower going bumh bumh bumh bumh... Its not too loud or anything but then after like 15-20 seconds its all smooth. I am not sure whats wrong.

And when its making that sound or sounding like its struggling to keep alive I accelerated and I could see some smoke in my mirrors. Not sure whats wrong. Has been happening for over a week every time I start the car after a few hours.

    Any suggestions?

I am not sure what colour the smoke is as I was inside the car and could see it through the windows. I am guessing black.. Also the radiator fluid was changed <500kms ago and engine oil was done 3000km's ago.

It's not something obvious like dodgy plugs or leads is it?

I don't think so... Car's been looked after really well. It randomly seemed to have stopped about a day after I posted this. So far so good. Not sure what the problems was...

Could it be one of the items that looks after the warm up? Auto choke, or one of the vacuum lines. Sounds like it flooding the engine with fuel.

Hmm maybe... sometimes when I try to turn the car on after a while.. what happens is that it cranks then just stops. So i have to try again and it starts. It does that sometimes too.
