awesome stuff mate! so keen to see this back together and going again hey. was it hard getting the rebuild gasket kit for the 5m? I've found a rebuild kit for my 4m in my x32 cressida on ebay.. so options there if i want to do mine eventually..

also was there much sludge to be found when you were cleaning it down? keep at it man.. its nearly tempting me to pull my 4m head of and redo the valve stem seals lol...

Just to clear up the M series question, the head studs (particularly in the 7M motors) are prone to stretching over time. Once the studs stretch, the headgasket is not sandwiched hard enough and it blows.

    Good luck with the rebuild

The block rebuild is now done, just waiting to stick the head back on and drop in back in the car.
Been researching my options for suspension setup and I think I've got it down.
Ma61 Low King Springs in the rear 4inch drop from standard height and either x7 front coilovers with shocks, or just the x7 coilover sleeve kits for welding on.

Apparently coilovers will pass rwc in Vic, but will the weld on sleeves pass? Obviously it'll be set for legal height for daily driving and rwc.

We pass coilovers for roadies at work, but not sleeves.

If you know the mechanic you'll be taking it to for a rwc, ask them before you buy I guess.

Think not passing sleeves is fair enough, it could be dodgy who knows. Might sell out for some full coilovers, its only going to be in the front.

So yeah haven't been on PA for quite some time, but I've been very very busy. Heres some updates. Enjoy

    New oldschool jap rims 15x7.5's

New tyres. 185/55/15's on the fronts and 195/55/15's on the rears

Dropped on her ass with ma61 supra king springs

Oh and most importantly, the engine is running strong, already done some celebration burn outs in the back yard, stay tuned for 2pac ultra clear respray and 1uz engine conversion after roadworthy
