Recommended Oil for Engine Break-In

Hi,

I was wondering if you (castrol representative) could recommend an oil for breaking in a brand new engine? Are there any reasons why I would go for a specific grade of oil for this process?

The engine is a 10:1 compression 2.3 litre turbo.

Thanks.

I recommend a cheap thick oil!

Or if you want Castrol go something like GTX2, change it at 800km.

You want a mineral oil with no additives for a start. They do make running in oil.
This is what I used
http://www.penriteoil.com.au/product...running_in_oil

But i'm sure your looking for a response from Castrol.....

i have been thinking about going down to a Xw30 oil for some time but my engine has 200k km. for the last year i've been using 10w40 semisyn/full syn oil and the oil loss is not too bad.
i heard Xw30 oil makes our engines responsive and revvy but what are people's experiences with going to 5w30 with high kms? also i'm a little concerned about the the heat in sydney over the next few months.

FEO
FEO is great and cheap. It doesnt matter that its mineral, I burn it all before 5000kms comes along anyway
