Speedo Needle Bulb

Hey all,

So last night at some point in time the bulb for the needle portion of my speedo has blown, possibly due to my dimmer box being just about dead, so it's bloody painful to drive at night.

I had a quick look before at trying to replace it myself, but seem to not be able to get the main gauge cluster out of the dash, however I don't seem to be able to find any information as to how easy replacing the bulb itself is.

Has anyone done this before/know anything about it? Is it just a matter of bang in another bulb?

Hey mate,you sure it's the bulb?can be fuses and solder cracking on the circuitry,i have seen similar threads before and i remember the easiest solution was to jump power from the rev counter needle to the speed one,i will have a dig around for it.

I've since taken the gauges out and had a look myself, all the connections seem to be fine but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to find the bulb for the needle itself. Unfortuantely it looks like a job for the pros so I'll be getting it looked at tomorrow, at least they can't charge me for the work of taking it out of the car.

Hi All

over the last 2 days my speedo needle has become eratic fluctuation between 40km/h to 90km/h to 0 then to 60 then stopped alltogether... ive looked for a loose connection but couldnt find any. Do you think it could be the drive sensor thats connected to the gearbox? Or is there something else I should look at first??
