Should I sell or part out????

    Hi all.

It's been FOREVER since I've posted in here.

For those that don't know I have a H22a 3rd gen, 1991 Cita. It runs great however the paint has gone badly and I can't justify giving it a respray. I'm building a house and have 2 other cars as it is, so the 3rd gen needs to go.
It had an engine rebuild about 20,000km ago after the timing belt snapped (auto tensioners sucks) and it got a port polish while being fixed up.

The question is, do I sell it or part it out? It doesn't have aircon so most people wont consider it for a daily. It'd make an awesome track car as it's had some minor tweaks to the performance over the years.
Part wise I have a lot of unique JDM parts, most unistalled now.

    Part list (from memory).

    Engine/Performance
    H22a with port polishing.
    Custom made cold air intake.
    Hondata S300 ECU.
    Exeedy heavy duty clutch.
    Custom 2.5 inch exhaust.
Larger break discs and pads from 1994 Vtec 4th gen.
    Manual timing belt tensioner.

    Suspension
Whiteline front and rear sway bars.
    Cusco Front strut brace.
    Kingsprings.

    Comfort
    Subaru seats.
    Custom trim rear seat.
    custom trim door panels.
    Momo stearing wheel.
Isotta 'matrix' gear knob and leather boot.
Custom sub box with boot floor that still allows access to spare tyre.
    Custom 'Vtec' floor mats.

    Unique Parts
Sunroof Visor, needs a new bolt to hold it in place. I believe it's slightly warped from being in the sun but should be able to flatten it out again.
Prelude window Visors, one has a slight crack.
Centre console arm rest (needs a retrim and never installed)
Drivers and passenger interior light. (not installed)
    Fog Lights.
    'Prelude' steel door trims.
Clock still has it's cover too....

Some older pics, the car is currently at work but imagine this with busted arse paint.

Here's the old thread about the beast, the main difference now is the paint work is shot to shit. Driving around the country several times in it will do that.

Sadly, issue is most people who would be interested in this car would either not have the money for it or already have a lude. I'd say try your luck anyway since it's easier than parting out, but that said, you have a ton of parts that you'll be able to make your money back on.

On that note, I'm interested in the rain visors, scuff plates and and interior lights if you decide to part out (depending on how much you want). Would like to call dibs now

Either way Shane, the trick is finding a buyer.
Parting it out also means a fair amount of time involved in stripping it, then a prolonged sell effort.

It's a good car. It's not your average H22 conversion. With a bit of paint (Even a DIY job) it's a nice bit of kit.

    Best of luck either way.

Valentich, it's registered with the H22a in SA. Should make it simple.

Not going to keep harping on about it, but I would really like the rain visors. If parting out isn't on the agenda at all then no worries, but if you'd consider it please PM me. Happy to see if we can sort something out.

Good luck with the sale regardless though

"You don't feel the speed, in a way. You just don't feel the speed. The car is so stable and so comfortable.. unless you look at the speed gauge you don't realise you're going that fast. This is a good compromise between the sporting side and the comfort side. As I said, I think it is a super, super car." - Ayrton Senna

    The thing is . .... I'm not just doing a h22 swop.
there is extensive body modification and a totally different interior.
If all goes well its 3 to 4 years work.
so starting with a 3rd Gen with the h22 in it will probably save me 1 year's work
