The words "Consumer affairs" and "full refund" come to mind.

Joy and anger with a huge amount of frustration thrown in

Well picked up the front air dam from car mate today.

It looks of high quality and I am very happy with it.

but to be told that the back will be another 6 months
before it will make an appearance is just heart breaking.

I am torn between persisting with finishing the F1 copy
and just finishing it up (nicely) and selling it.
The world could always do with another nice 3rd Gen.

Of cause I'll keep all the F1 bits I have accumulated.
and in the future I could alway try again.....
if I can find a mint white 91 Cita.

    I am torn.
but then after starting on the h22 3rd gen
will I ever bother to build a nice daily driver.

plus since I started all this I when out and bought
    a 2009 accord euro
(not too impressed with it, it's nice but I have not bonded with it)

    Any thoughts

good progress so far only advice is focus on one, which I learnt from my experience, 1 finished is better than 3 unfinished.

    I'm back...
Its been over a year since I posted last.
and though fasebook is OK, This is where the serious build post should be.
So new job and I get some spare time. I think every thing is out the way so I have time for cars again.
So since the last post I bought 2 more cars and a classic 70's bike.
I got another 3rd gen.... I'll talk about that later and a classic 380slc. The Merc was a steel, runs and only has a few spots of rust. but I'm not going to touch it until the F1 is totally finished, and only on down times with the h22 build.

So... All my plans are totally the same.... but have changed and been refined.

So some of you may know....
Back up. so a year or so ago I was a bit pissed with the build. CARMATE screwed me around with the body kit. well, another year later I finally got the back.
so its been almost 2 years to get the front and back.... My advice....DONT USE CAEMATE.....
and after dropping the 91' motor into the white car.... well it just did not drive the way I wanted it to... or at least not the same way that the gold one drives (She is one of those ones that survived the years like new)

Anyway during the year one of our own had some bad luck and smashed there 3rd gen. And to me it's mechanically was where I wanted to be.
So I bought it and shipped it up from Melbourne.

    Kozzys baby

So with me working 6 days a week and it always seemed to rain on my day off it took me a few months to get it repairs.

Unfortunately the damage, tho was light, it was a little more than I thought.

Getting the guard and light out was an ordeal (all was twisted and crushed so you cant get to the bolts)

and meny of the brackets, lines and even the light motor where damaged.

Luckily I have a donor car at hand.

It's all finished now!!!!! I'm not to fussed about getting the alignment perfect as it needs to get blown apart for paint and body kit.

I was going paint the bits to match and rego it.
The only other thing I wanted to do is to put S2 tail lights on it,
but as they're not a straight swap I thought I'll wait on them.

Also the paint really is rough, looks great in the photos but up close...

So after some thought, I decided complete it first, do a complete paint job and the body kit before I rego.

So we are up to date....
    Bought Kozzy's lude
    Repaired damage.
    And about to paint it.

Today I started on her again.

First job. Put the S2 tail light in.

I first went with drill and cut. AND yes they went in ok.

But when I took them out and looked underneath I could not live with it.
Cut outs not covered, metal cut away to fit the housing, and the lock in a weird place.
It look dodgy, I Know you cant see it, But I will know.

So I opted for the weld panel approach.

But instead of the whole panel, I think using the top half will workout better,
as I had to remove the panel from the donor It saved me a whole load of time.

    Cut out the panel

Donor panel. It has minimal rust in usual places, but better than the original one, I'll repair it in the next few days.

Trial fit, I know it does not look right in the photo, but after it was tacked in place it was perfect.

Test fit of the tail lights (No... they're not the lights I'm using, there a spare set)

So tomorrow I'll finish the welding and it will be done.
I'm just going to slowly work all the way around and prep it, primer it and edge it.
The plan was always to have a white prelude, so a total color change is happening.
This car has gone from red to black and now to white LOL

    Yes, S2 lid and wing.
That's the thing I'm starting on now,
Prepping and painting (White) the boot and boot lid.
