    Val's F1 Special 3rd Gen Prelude

So I am starting 2 new build treads, this one for my white 89’,
I got if for $600 with 6 months rego, but a Broken timing belt, it’s got a few spots of rust that I will fix before I start driving it.
I also bought the 91' for $800 with a good motor, but a stuffed gearbox…. Which is OK as I would of changed the box to manual anyway.
I got the 91' first and was looking for a manual box when I found the 89', and as I could not find a manual box for less I bought the whole car with the idea of ripping the box out, but later decided to keep the 89' on the road and use the 91' as a donor.

So the motor of the 91' has just gone into the 89'. And seems to be running well.

If you seen the Stolen in 12hrs post you will know the headaches I've recently had.

Note: My first Prelude in 92' was a 89' that was done up very nicely....
I got it completely done up, so I missed out on the fun of doing it myself.
It came complete with a very cool F1 Special sticker on it.

My goal is to replicate that prelude.
Get it neat, I have now 3x 3rd gen Preludes, I’ll be swapping all the best bits onto the white one.
I’ll be adding a body kit when I can find were to get one that looks more old schools,
I scored some 90’s Momo 5 star mags (my original had 5 star globes… but these are close… and to me look better!)
They need to be repaired, one has a large chunk missing. The others are ok but I’ll get them refinish to remove some gutter rash,
then I’ll paint them white to match. I'll Probably be throwing some pirelli's on.

I will add an old school comp. stereo setup (that’s my thing)
and to do homage to the original prelude I’ll put a auto start alarm in
(in the 90’s no one had seen a auto start alarm so it really pulled looks when the car started by itself)

As for Performance…. All I want is nice headers and exhaust…. Not loud LOL, CAI and Cam Gears, and maybe something to help tune it nicer.
After all this is to be my daily driver and I don't want it over the top LOL....

I really want to put my efforts in the 91’, which will get a H22 dropped in (I just bought today a 4th gen Vtir to used as a donor)

Ok the photos I got so far are just the ones from gumtree, all 4 preludes came from there.

And just for fun... This is what I picked up today.
It cost $1200 and it had 10 days rego left.
The body is rough but what I want is to use it as a donor for my 91'

And boy did I enjoy the run I did today in it, Vtec is just.... WOW...
It feels better to drive than the Evo 8.... maybe not as quick... but a whole lot more fun....

Looking promising! I had plan to do the h22 swap but bought a turbo 3g instead enjoyed couple run and got bored of it, now I have 2 91 citas both convered to manual and 2 89 shells laying around, good luck with the h22 swap it's gonna be fun, and keep us updated.

Picked up the white 89' today.....
and I am a little disappointed.....
It does not feel anyway as nice as the gold one....
I think the motors are about the same... thought with only one drive under the belt I think the gold one feels more responsive.
but the real worry is that the white one feels much less nimble, for sure one of the front shocks are gone.
The front is bouncing around like last nights stripper, and hitting a speed hump is like there is nothing there.
Its ok as I have 2 others to get bits from, but both are stock,
and I am playing with the idea of getting some after market ones as if I am going to rip them out might as well replace them with better ones.
But after the last 3 months and spending so much on cars the coffers are a bit bare. LOL

So if anyone has any cheapish ones let me know.

I also found that this one is a lot more worn that I originally thought.
But as now I'm on this path, I'll just persist in fixing it up.
