Time for another boosted 3rd Gen (dmcgahey's Progress Thread)

Alright, so after stalking these forums for quite some time now, I thought it would be time to add a bit of a progress
thread just to share with all.

Firstly, bit of a back story. My first ride was a '89 White Lude with a 4 speed Auto, drove it through my L plates, and most of
my P plates before an unfortunate accident occured. Basically wrecked the chassis to point where it was no longer 'safe' so I
had to say goodbye to her.

Fortunatly, the engine was all good and 99% of the interior, so after searching the internet for
about 2 hours (Insanely lucky!!), found myself a 'dead straight' 1988 Prelude for $400. The motor ran, had a working 5 speed,
paint was on the faded side but other than that, no issues at all. Owner said it smoked a 'little' but I wasn't too concerned, I had
a spare engine for worst case scenario. Got my father to drive it home and the only comment I got was, 'Couldn't see out the rear
window because of the constant blue smoke cloud that trailed me'.

Turns out the previous owner had filled the engine with oil, I mean FILLED. Oil up to the filler cap, just insane.

So gave her a service, fresh paint job and taadaa, stage 1 complete. A running Prelude back on the road.

And after a cut and polish (Plus some other stuff) and she looks pretty decent.

And that is how she sits right now, currently no further action has been taken except I have swapped all
of the interior from my old Prelude into my new one as it was in far better condition.

    The Goal:
My goals are not conservative in the least. I am a Mechanical Engineer that have been working on a Honda
Powered race car for the past 3 years and driven it to a couple of podiums.
So with that stated, I am aiming to push the envelope a fair bit. In terms of a HP goal, I am wanting to hit 300 HP
comfortably with the possibility to head towards 400 HP if the engine/chassis/traction will hold.
But it is also about learning as much as I can along the way, it will be an experience, a rollercoaster but a whole lot of fun!
And isn't that why we do this?

    The Plan:
    BOOOOOOSSSSSTTT!
Okay, after making sure it will take it safely. Forged Internals, Hondata tuning, aftermarket Cams and stiffer valvespring,
MLS Head Gasket, Stiffer motor mounts, LSD (THANKS IAN!) and a hell of a lot more.
I don't have a time frame but would love to have the new engine in and running N/A by Christmas and the rest will follow.

But all in all, I am bloody excited to get started and have some fun with it!

Sounds like a good project, have a lot of fun along the way. The end is the result but the trip is the fun.

    Good luck

    Sunday Update:

Little bit of work done on the weekend, cleaned up amp and sub install and started working on a way to get the power down.

So just moved the amp up to the boot and add some lights behind it to show it off, just one of the those 'while I am there' things.

Got some brand new rims and wheels.
17" rims with a wider 215/40/ZR17 Hankook Ventus V12 Evo.

First impressions are incredible, have gone from no grip to just amazing grip levels. Cannot break traction after initial clutch drop, just keeps hanging on.

Runs a CBR600RR motorbike engine, custom made 3D printed intake Manifold and Throttle body.
Whole car is built in house, weighs 300kg with myself in it.

Cannot remember HP numbers but puts down a 0-100 time of just 3.3 seconds.
    Pretty fun to drive.

that homebrew paint job is great!

I'm so envious of you guys with the tools and skill sets to turbo your preludes
"You don't feel the speed, in a way. You just don't feel the speed. The car is so stable and so comfortable.. unless you look at the speed gauge you don't realise you're going that fast. This is a good compromise between the sporting side and the comfort side. As I said, I think it is a super, super car." - Ayrton Senna

As Promised, Photos of my summer project which got under way today.

Needless to say, pretty excited but also decently nervous about it all. I think this may become a common theme.

And there we have it. That is where things will be for a week as I am away until New Year, but the ball is rolling and looking at an early February engine swap.

I have a full engine parts list for anyone interested, I know this was probably the biggest learning curve aspect for me (As in, what can actually get into this engine), and more than happy to help.

The H22 rods are being used with custom JE pistons in the B20A6 block. So the block has been modified to allow for the larger Rods and because the pistons are custom, the wrist pin size isn't an issue.

And when you say manifold, I assume you mean Intake and not exhaust, but currently just using the stock manifold.
