    Are stock wheels worth anything?

    Hi all,

So I was cleaning out the shed today and found the old original wheels off the 'lude.

Unfortunately as you can see, after years of sitting around with dirt and brake dust on them the clear coat on the faces has all started coming off. Apart from the finish they are in pretty good condition, some minor gutter rash on a couple of rims but no deep gouges. My question is, are these wheels rare enough to ever be worth anything? Are they worth spending any money to clean them up and get them re-sealed, or are they only ever going to be worth like $50.

Thanks Sean. Bugger, I might just keep them then. Throw a bit of paint on them and they'd be good for getting me to and from the track, anything would look better than the rubbish 17's I have at the moment.

I paid $80 for a set with barely legal thread and sold them for the same a year later with nadda thread.

    I always liked their design.

I realize this is an old thread but if you still have those wheels and they are from a 3rd Gen Prelude maybe you'd take a few dollars and I pick up the shipping to the states?
I know it won't be cheap but our United States Postal Service, (USPS) is almost reasonable and i'd like to have your Aus wheels, I think. No hurry of course.

    Cheers

Hi Nigel, these wheels are still sitting in my shed. Unfortunately they are for a 4th gen not a 3rd so they have a 4x114.3 PCD where you would have a 4x100 pattern.

    Bolli!cks, Just my luck.

Thanks for the consideration and the look see.

Hey tassie, what size are they, thinking about buying them off you, if you still want to sell them?

Hey Swervin, They're the stock wheels off a JDM 4th gen Si-Vtec so they're a 15x6.5 +55 with 4x114.3 PCD. They won't fit a 3rd gen without adapters. It has stamped inside that they are Enkei's and they were made in the US, so it seems they are the same as the US and Aussie model VTi-R rims making them not particularly rare at all.

AS per my suggestion stock wheels are pretty much amazing and are really of great worth as compared with after market parts. Stock ones are far much durable and long lasting then any of the other parts. Have kept mine for more than 4 years.
