I bought my Honda Prelude on the 29th of October 2012 as my 2nd car (first one was a Honda Jazz, got into an accident but it was my dad driving at the time!)

The car is a 1998, automatic, Si model. i know that's probably one of the less powerful ludes going around being an auto and non vtec but hey, i got it for a really good price at the time since I desperately needed a car. I was choosing between a blue lude and this but the old owner took care of the car well, had documentation for everything, new fluids, new timing belt, new tyres, so i went with it.

The car came with a Kenwood Head unit and pioneer speakers all throughout, a semi sports muffler and I guess that's about it for the things not stock in the car.

When I got home, I found out that the car was a bit dodgy tho having problems like, doors not locking from either inside or outside using the key or the remote, having a hard time turning the car on due to the ignition.
So I opened up both doors and found some of the metal rods that connects to the solenoid were a bit bent and the solenoids/actuator weren't working well, and I had a bit of a fiddle with it though I wasn't sure what I was doing, but ended up fixing the lock system which was a big win for me. But I still haven't fixed the hood not latching easily (I have to sit on the hood to lock it :/)

Then I realised that a reason why it was hard to turn on the car was due to the key being worn out so I had it replaced and voila. I also repainted the wipers black as they were faded.

Over the year I've had it, the first mod I did was install a 12" Sony XPlod sub and an amp I got off a friend and replaced the shifter with something that looks like a barrel of a revolver.

Recently, around September 2013, I wanted to improve the sound of the car a bit better and went to Cannington Performance to get them to install a sports muffler for me. Long story short they made the car as quiet as a stock car and i was frustrated that they wouldn't let me get a refund as I specifically said I wanted a loud sound and you can probably put a cannon muffler in there but nooooo, so I got a spare mini cannon muffler from a friend got it installed which made the car sound decent enough.

For some reason as well I only just recently realised that my car is missing a battery brace and when I saw it I immediately looked for one cos i dont wanna get a yellow sticker just for that. I found one that looks a bit like the DC battery tie downs and hooked it up with some hold down bolts I got from repco.

and since its summer again now, I finally decided to ditch the shift knob cos it gets a bit too hot and replaced it with this:

Now I'm just waiting for my LEDs to arrive and I can start lighting up the car.

    shift knob looks nice
You know you can take the wipers off with 1 bolt each to spray them? No overspray risk, easier etc...

have you had any problems with the auto transmission and how are you taking care of it?
"You don't feel the speed, in a way. You just don't feel the speed. The car is so stable and so comfortable.. unless you look at the speed gauge you don't realise you're going that fast. This is a good compromise between the sporting side and the comfort side. As I said, I think it is a super, super car." - Ayrton Senna
