Wink Lahiru's Supermarine Blue 97 VTIR Manual

I always wanted my first car to be a manual and was on carsales and other sites looking for a manual sporty looking car that would suit as a good P plater car. Thats when i started getting in to the preludes coz of the way its built and its sharp looks. I stumbled upon few 5th gen ludes and decided to check them out and finally settled for one !!

This is the moment I picked up my 1st car 2012 Sep 19th

It was a complete stock car driven and carefully taken care of by a lady owner

^ Took these three pics just before driving it off

    MOD 2 : SOUND SYSTEM

Needed to listen to some good beats driving everyday to uni cruising down monash freeway ! Stock sound system with bad quality rear speakers and a ordinary headunit with no USB connection had to go

Waited for a week or two till the famous 30% off on car audio sale at JB and picked up few goodies and saved some bucks

    Bought few things :
Sony DSX-A30 Headunit with USB connection and red lighting to go with the dash colours
Rear stock speakers were taken off and replaced with Sony Xplode6" X 9" 3-way Coaxial Speaker
& these were combined with a
    Pioneer Amp

    How the headunit sits

Also had a Sub in for couple of weeks but base from my amp'ed xplode speakers was enough so got rid of the sub

How are the speakers? I wanna upgrade mine too, but thinking of putting components in the front first and then worry about the rear.

They sound siqqq specially after I amped the rear speakers. xplodes have reallly goood bass hence why i got rid of the massive sub i had

I'm not gonna bother with the front speakers to be honest coz im pretty happy with how it sounds.
pluswhat i was told from the guy at JB is that stock speakers at the front are hard to find (in terms of the size) soo he said might have to cut and change the opening on the door if im to fit one :/ so yee
if i were you I'd just find a reallly nice pair of rear 6* 9" and amp it then call it a day

    ask few other members too...

Yeah be prepared to cut/screw new holes for 6.5" speakers in the front. my JLs we have to mount 2 screws opposite, just screwed into plastic door mould, they're in firm though. (they're quite deep also, since top range JLs)
You should be fine with anything 6" in the fronts

Yeah i know i'll have to cut and screw new holes for the fronts but in the end it'll all be worth it IMO, Will be getting Focal PS165 components and an amp to suit it. These speakers have very good reviews so should be good

yeah, i've heard some 6.5" fit no worries, so you'll have to wait and see, you might be lucky. The JL C5s are just a very big magnet, and a big speaker in general, but the sound is amazing from them, so again, all worth it
