    DIY hot tank

ok so ive gotten the idea in my head about building a hot tank to clean up some engine parts. so far from some reading its just caustic soda water bring to a boil remove when squeaky clean =].

i saw a thread using electricity to pull the dirt from the block, which has lost me because grease isnt attracted to charge id someone could shed some light.

but has anyone seen or had experience doing this? tips? ideas?

plus once removed, how do i ward off rust? so far for my crank i just keep spraying wd40.

Great idea I've always wanted to make my own hot tank but never had the chance, if you do end up making one, be sure to take pics during the construction, I'd be very interested to see it
