honing really confuses me, how much does it take off?
like its a stock 33mm bore and if i hone it should i go 33.5 mm pistons or still 33mm?
if i can still run 33's then i might as well do it myself to be honest

Whats the stock output on one of these? And how well to they respond to bolt on mods? Also is there much aftermarket support for parts/mods?

Always had a soft spot for them, they have a great rep, and even though I dont cut hair for a living I might still want to own one in the future.

I am looking at getting one as a second car in the near future. Has to be white and the earlier model with the flip up lights
If you don't turn around to look at your car as you are walking away, you have the wrong car

stock it is, well was tighter than the lude, stock out put isnt much but with the weight of the car it comes out more on the road, i am hoping for 200+rwkw with an e85 tune

escapade, that why i got this one, love the lights and the 5 speed gearbox has WAY better gear ratios

200 is a big figure. What is the kerb weight? Less than 1000? Wonder how you could transplant 4ws into that thing?

Be a fair weapon in a rally or a hill climb with those type of stats.

no honing is just to cross hatch the cylinders it does not take off anything measurable from my knowledge. its so new piston rings can seat properly on a new surface. Boring is actually machining to remove metal from the sleeves. Measure you bores as they are, then go from there.

I had a hunch that I should change the welsh plugs as 270km may have given them a bit of time to rust and holy shit how I was right. Click image for larger version.

After honing I want to clean out the rust from the block. It's only surface rust and or a little more but how do you go about getting it out?

awww guys this is so confusing, ive found what degree, grit and compound i need to hone my block but i cant find any products at all, ive found a hone called a flex hone ball looking thing but it still has nothing on finishing the surface after you use it and the grits for the flex hone eg 240 for a blocks and 240 for a flex hone give completely different 'Ra' numbers, its confusing as tits, here is the CP recommendation sheet, does anyone have any clue on where to get some good hone tools?
im kinda considering getting it honed by a machinist, but how much would that set me back?

Honings cheap as chips shouldn't be more than 100 max. It seriously takes like 10 minutes to do. Are they iron sleeves?

    Yup. Cast iron.

    Saki
But it's giving me specific things to do using things I can't get from super cheap. Like specific grits. I can't find different grades at SCA. Only replacements equivalent of the original item.

Dude the honing grit is to what the sleeves are made from. Go buy a normal honer and do it. Measure you bores and order pistons rings according.
