    Mx-5 full rebuild

So I think this is the appropriate thread even though its not honda but yeah. Umm I acquired this and prelude has been put on hold for my fully forged turbo drift machine.
So today me and the missus (SHIT SHE HELPED and got dirty haha)
Pulled out most of the front end and suspension to make way to pull the motor out. Click image for larger version.

Today we pulled off the head and found scores on the cam lobes but I'm getting them re ground anyway. Need to find someone who will do custom grinds. Click image for larger version.

    And a LOT of carbon.
Bonus the hone is still very visible and I don't think I will need it re honed for the new pistons. Surprising for 270,000 kms.

So I pulled some valves out today without a valve tool. Surprisingly easy.
Turns out they are cooked. Lucky I already bought new ones. Click image for larger version.

Did a little bit more on the car. Pulled the gearbox, the weird ] shaped beam from the box to diff, the block and jet washed the whole engine bay and parts. Going smoothly but needs new main bearings. They turned out to be scored buy on the outside so it's still salvageable, LUCKILY.

Also. Are there any places in eastern side that hone blocks? Never done it before but may mess it up. Don't want to risk it.

Pretty easy bro. Actually very easy. Just put on low speed go up and down 6 times one way and 6 times in the opposite direction, just spray some wd40 on the blocks for a bit of lube. You just want to form a cross hatch and get rid of that shine on the cylinder walls

But I want to bore to 34mm. How will I know that it is a consistent 34mm all over the cylinder? Just vernier the top and bottom?
