    Honda Challenge Australia

    Hi everyone,

My name is Peter and I am the Series Director of a new race series proposed for 2014 callled the Honda Challenge.

We have setup a website at http://www.hondachallenge.com.au

and a FaceBook page at https://www.facebook.com/HondachallengeAustralia

We also have a new basic Forum running where the exchange of ideas is welcome.

We are hoping that some of the more track oriented members here might be interested in an organised, dedicated race series, purely for Hondas.

Anyway, check us out and let us know what you think. Expressions of Interest are welcome, and we are getting new affiliates and sponsors on board every week.

    Peter

So one of Hondas big claims to fame was 4WS.

Interested to hear why these are excluded.

i gess they just dont trust it for safety. obviously none of them have owned a 4ws 3rd gen :/ i think it might also be coz it gives and unfair handling advantage?

Because 4ws is not safe on a race track at high speeds. Switching quick from left to right or the other way round can make the car very unstable at fast speeds. And I'm not talking under 100km I mean all +100, even in my old 4ws I could feel it, it was awesome fun and great in one direction at high speeds but sudden change in direction puts a very weird unstable feel

The idea of 4WS is to increase stability. Plenty of guys on here have tracked their 4WS preludes.
    Meh!

On a track, you would never apply enough lock to turn the rear wheels in the opposite direction to the fronts at high speed.

I'm assuming it's because the organizers feel it would give an unfair advantage. We all know what HICAS-equipped skylines did at Bathurst 20 odd years ago.

yea i have had mine 200kph+ and it feels stable as ever. i recon the 4ws makes the car feel alot more solid at highspeed. and anyway. if your in a supposed unstable car isent that a disadvantage to you anyway? i recon its just coz its an unfair advantage over 2ws cars.
