    Angry Foggy globes keep blowing!

Hi guys, I have this notorious problem with my foggies and really want to iron it out so they work without the globes prematurely bursting.

I have spent so much money on buying globes and taking the f**king bumper off is such a hassle every time I have to get to my foglight housing to replace the globes. I'm getting sick of it to the point where I'm just going to take them off and throw them in the bin.

Has anyone got any idea as to why my globes are blowing prematurely? (cue pun). I know I'm not touching the glass or the filament with my hands for a fact. I do notice that when I turn my parkers and headlights on the car shudders for a moment and the lights dim, then go back to normal after a few seconds. An auto electrician told me that people generally think that globes blow because they get too much power, but also because they don't get ENOUGH.

A mate helped put them in the second time to do the wiring correctly (fully qualified electrician) so he knew what he was doing. I know the wiring is perfect as I was present and helping when we put them in. The first time my housing melted, so I purchased a new set of foglights but to no avail, the globes in these ones keep blowing.

Please, anyone with any insight help me out, I'm tired of spending money on globes.

I know this may seem like a silly question, but.....have you been buying the same globes every time and are they the correct voltage, wattage, etc?

I've been buying the correct bulbs, but from different places to see which ones last the longest. I think I'm just gonna cut my losses and put HID's in them and source the power elsewhere.

I just wanna know what the damn problem is so I don't blow the HID's as well. Obviously everything is getting's power from the battery, direct or not. Could my battery be the problem, not being able to give power to everything including sub, amp, headlights, foglights, dash, alternator, radiator fan, A/C fan etc at the same time? Is my battery not strong enough? The voltmeter shows 12V no problems, sometimes 11.8 or .9 and sometimes 12.1 or .2, which is normal.

What brand are the foggies or what brand are the globes? The globes are H3C, I've gotten Repco, Supercheap, Narva, some other cheap japanese brand which lasted the longest actually. I don't use them that often but when I want to they blow. It shouldn't matter anyways, the globes should last over 500 hours... These last 5 max.

I have noyka and they have not blown at all.

though i have the same problem as you with my car shuddering with turning the lights on...

redo the wiring, or, check for any shorts or anywhere that could be making the positive touch the body of the car.. splits in cables are so common lol

My front light HID's were also blowing every month. So a friend did recommended me to install a relay with them. Now my rides light and my HID blasters are pretty much doing great.
