ok small update hopefully will have it finished by the end of today =]
more work on the gauges with the proper material this time
im planning on working the whole dash this way

and the rest of the pod

the material is just like recaro seat material alcantara, so yes these will match my seats =]
ill be working on the base today.

ive also got some pvc pipe to start the header mock up so ill post up what i come up with later.

ok small update on what ive been up to

my sister got a little further with the sewing i happy with it it looks awesome =]

and i pulled out the pvc piping and had a look at what would fit and work just a rough mock up, i didnt puller the headers off to get a real judgment of space but i held it just above where i wanted it mounted and it should work out fine, but ill see for sure when get into it properly
anyways pics of what ive come up with so far, looks like ill be opting for the topmount after all.

what im hoping to achieve with this configuration is that the tight squeeze of far 1st runner will hug the second runner straight down past its bend, then turn into the collector,
the fourth runner will hug runner 3 except it wont diver under runner three but go over the top and into the collector hopefully leaving enough room for the dump pipe.
if the actual pipe diameter turns out to be smaller than the 40mm pipe im using now it will be a bonus.
hopefully ill put up the picture of the finished dash piece 2moro =]

    enjoy =]

ill post up a picture on how the turbo should sit when i have an extra set of hands lol

    UPDATE!!
ok i finished the manifold mockup, i just need to buy flange gaskets for the exhaust manifold so i can take it off and test it for fitment but im fairly certain there will be enough room for the dump and i should clear the front engine mount, since the two side runner will look like this

    and from the front

ill have to double check this when i buy the mandrel bends but it looks like i might have to have a slight angle from the exhaust flange .

yes i did measure the distances and centers i did not just write numbers on a piece of wood lol.
from some quick measurements it looks like the manifold will be 27 cm deep roughly which should clear the cross member, and 17cm from the flange which should clear the radiator the shroud might need to changed, or ill move the fans around... not sure yet.

the next step is to make the collector and now im having a bit of trouble, i might see if i can use autocad, and create it there so i can determine angles on which to cut pipes.
Problem.... i cant use autocad lol

deciede if your going to use mild steel , steam pipe or stainless . ( steam pipe is the best choice as it will hold alot of weight when very VERY hot ) and get a flange of the same type .

I was thinking of using 312 stainless steel, i think its 312, 304 works i hear but 312 is preffered so im told.
Ive never heard of steam pipe, how does it compare to 312?
If not most important price? Lol
    Thanks for the help =]

Most suppliers only stock either 304 or 316 when it comes to stainless steels I think man.
