^^ ^^ very very true bob , 9.0:1 static C/R would be fine with 15-20psi boost as your high boost setting , scat ? these are the same rods i have in my b20a (h22 scat forged h-beam rods) and good for around the 1000hp mark , the carrillo rod is prob the best rod on the market and i have heard that they are rated to 2000hp ,
    http://www.raceeng.com/p-9037-carril...r-bolt-ea.aspx
they way i see it if your wanting a bullet proof bottom and 100% sure of it under boost than i would spend the extra and sleeve it with dartons , a pro seal ring kit thru JE Pistons , forged 9.0:1 pistons , ACL race series rod bearings and main bearings , ARP main stud kit , block decked . this setup would be very reliable and very strong , but i see what bob is saying because your HP goal is quite small and sleeveing would be over kill and a waste of money as the mahle's are designed to work the with factory sleeves of the h series . to reach your 200 fwkw goal i would go a set of scat rods , mahle pistons and ring kit , acl race series main and rod bearings , a hone and deck of the block , ARP head stud kit , cometic MLS head gasket , upgrade fuel system , nice thought out fabbed turbo manifold , internally gated turbo (GT 2876r) upgraded exhaust , ecu , tune , ENJOY !!!!!!!

Thanks phattzy, very informative and will help me out alot. I see what your both saying and maybe I should have a higher goal, at the end of the day I would just like my car to be a safe build. I'm on good money in my job but towards the end of this year I'm buying a house where I'm presuming most my money will go lol. So right now I'd like to spend the money I have building something that I'm only gonna have minimal trouble with. I have thought about these mahle gold pistons a fair bit and tried to find as much info as I could on them but there is still alot of threads saying not to use these with circumstances where they have scored there bores and stuff like that.... Would u guys 100 percent trust mahle gold pistons for 80 000km ???

^^^. All true. It really is all you wil NEED. In fact, it sounds like exactly what I have planned for my red car. (and half built already).

But I think Dan wants to take his motor one step further than he needs to, just to make it totally infailable.

If you want to sleeve it mate, I get that, go ahead. It's not stupid. Just extent thorough...

Personally, my digestion is 9.6/1 c/r. It'll drive great, (thats what the K24 in the 2nd.gen CRV runs stock) and you can still add a reasonable amount of boost, with the sleeved block. 10/1 is the AUDM H22 stock. Your tune would need to be very good. And the first tank of poor fuel will cause you problems.

9.6/1 will allow you to be able to make things very safe, yet still hsve a car that drives very well.

I've been tryin to get alot of reading up done on mahle gold pistons... It's a little bit 50/50.. Some ppl say they run them all the time and there fine, other people say there nothing but problems with lots of factory faults or find problems
Getting there rods to fit with them, ring lands breaking, scoring of cylinder walls and people seem to say that u will only get 30 000km out of them with turbo.... What do u Guys think?? Anyone have any type of experiences with them??

Pretty sure only Adrenalin has driven with Mahle pistons. Don't think he's had any bottom end problems. I'm a few weeks off starting my car (Mahle pistons/Pauter rods), i'll update my thread once i'm finished. Sleeving won't be necessary for 200kw atw, but it can't hurt! It is quite an expensive process though, if you are saving for a house, may i suggest the Mahle option.
I've done my build in a similar fashion to what you are planning, slowly buying all the parts you need for the job before putting it all together. It hasn't been too hard on the wallet this way, but i haven't driven my car for 21 months...

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you want it to be reliable - tune it at high pressure, then drive it around daily at wastegate pressure and only ever turn it up for special occasions, that's what i'm going to do

Adrenalin hasnt had much time on the bottom end so i wouldnt be asking , cheaper option is rods and malhe's , stock vtec head will be fine . if your wanting to sleeve it and bullet proof bottom end then be prepared to spend to serious coin . weigh up and decieded which way you want to go with ? once you do pretty sure one of us can give you the shopping list . should i shoudnt i will get you nowhere dude . decieded and let us know . prob the best advice i can give at the moment .

if your going to get the malhe's then make sure you spend the money on prep work with the block , 5 thou over size on the bores , decking , notch the cyclinder ends if needed for the rods etc etc . i dont think you'll have a prob with the mahle's if your prep work is good .

I shouldn't have to notch the ends should I??? I'd like to have a rod/piston combo where I don't have to make any mod to the piston or rod itself. I've actually noticed that saki is doing a similiar build and where he got his block done is actually right beside my work so I'd he recommends them I will go in and have a chat

Okay doin ended up having to buy another bottom end... Bought a h22a4 open deck from the wreckers... Mainly because that's all they had lol. Was a little worried bout the bores... Took it down to the machine shop.. It's gettin a hot tank, deck, bore and hone to .25 oversize... I've ordered some 9:0 mahle gold pistons (.25 oversized) and eagle rods... The machine shop is waiting to receive these before doing there final machining...

My next question is (haven't done much research) is what size turbo should I be looking for if I would like to make 200-250kw atfw...?? I'd like keep my factory air con and ps. I realize this will depend on my manifold I get fabricated but just saying I can't go massive due to size... If someone could just point me in the right direction I'm sure I could find some research to make an executive decision

Thanks phattzy.. Will do some research on the turbo itself. Thanks for the quick reply... I think the main issue is gonna be me trying to keep factory size radiator along with ac and ps
