Casey Stoner to retire end of the season.

News just in, it's official, Casey Stoner has announced he will retire from MotoGP at the end of the 2012 season. I haven't read his full statement but the gist is he isn't enjoying the racing within the current rules and regulations abd as such he'll be looking at other codes to get into maybe V8 supercars.

...and stick around more with his new Bub.
That's good if he doesn't have anything else to prove > develop other skills like deep sea fishing etc
Just hope he doesn't come back like Ian Thorpe later on.

Results for Le Mans race this evening in the wet. Great race, Lorenzo went straight into the lead and established a 4 second lead which Stoner got down to 2 seconds or so before Lorenzo pushed and eventually finished about 5 seconds ahead. Rossi managed to slip past Stoner in the dying laps after several failed attempts and held him off to finish his best position for Ducati since he moved from Yamaha.

    1. Jorge Lorenzo - Yamaha Factory Racing
    2. Valantino Rossi - Ducati
    3. Casey Stoner - Repsol Honda

Lorenzo now leads the championship by 8 points from Stoner.
