My Honda Prelude 1988 Si 4WS

    Hey guys,

Thought it was about time I become a member of Prelude Australia! I've owned my 3rd gen since November 2011 now. I scored it for $1000 AUD with horrible paint, a massive oil leak with zero mods. So far I've picked up some cheap 15" wheels, installed a new sound system, fixed the oil leak (wrong sump bolt... ), added a DRIFT 4" pod filter and resprayed the whole car/fixed a few major dents/rust spots.

Thought I would add some photos so I could get some feedback on my car. Feel free to give me some advice on some mods I should do. e.g Lower it, bigger rims, new exhaust, etc.

(btw, its an automatic b20a6... but I couldn't resist not buying this thing)

Thanks guys! I dunno, I wouldn't mind lowering it a bit at the back as its a tiny bit high. I'll be tinting the windows myself as soon as the tint arrives in the mail but I'm all out of ideas really. Maybe a new exhaust? Any recommendations?

If you have money and spare time, skys the limit on recommendations. Lowering and exhaust are where most of us have started

I got a quote at Pedders for some lowered springs (wouldn't have a clue how to install them myself) and they quoted me 720 for the springs, installation and wheel alignment. Not sure if its a decent deal or not... what are you guys spending on suspension?

Pedders don't have such a good write up with most us, some of the tassie boys maybe able to help you find a decent suspension shop. My best advice for everything would be to take a look around the forum, see what others have done and said and go from there. The forum is a big place.

How much would coilovers set me back? I heard must coilovers make the ride really stiff? (I use this for my daily driver haha) Any recommendations on where I could take it? Or even buy parts online and get someone to install (in Tassie)

The K-sports are fine for a daily driver.

But I'd suggest a separate coil and shock combo.

And some of these when needed

Coilovers are great fun but the verdict is still out on reliability.

How do we know how low these springs will make the car? And how do we find out what shocks go with which springs?

Sorry to hijack, it's just that I was looking into lowering my 3rd gen as well.

the beuti about coilovers is you can adjust the ride height without comprimising spring rate , you can also adjust spring rate to get either a soft or hard ride . they are fantastic . all i have is a sleeve kit which when lowering or raising the height comprimise's the spring rate . i plan to get a set of F&F 2's .
