    Hadamona's SPL install

This is what I've been busy working on. It's the biggest box I can go, it's only 80.5 litres after displacement even though 42.5 litres per sub is recommended. Port area is as big as possible (201sq.cm or 31.2sq.in) at 44Hz without being too close to rear wall or taking up too much volume. This isn't a build as such, just an experiment at this stage. I'll update with a video after it's installed.. As far as the equipment goes, I'm using two DC Audio XL M2 12" subs, two Vibe Black Death Bass 1 amps and a Fullriver HC65 AGM battery (will add another soon). Lets see how loud I can get this car Highest previous score was 134.8dB with 500wrms and one 12" sub. Now using two 12" subs on 5000wrms

I'd be upgrading the alternator as well . have seen 120-150 amp alternators on eBay .

Wouldnt a sealed box improve it? As anything that is ported generally requires a greater volume inside the box to perform as well?

That fit's in better than a bought one. Damned fine work.

IIRC Ported is better if you are tuning to certain frequencies. Will give higher SPL numbers. Where as sealed gives a tighter response across a more broad frequency range.

Correct - if you get a properly tuned box with the correct volume, or a adjustable port. If space is an issue then a closed box can give you an edge however as it requires less space and easier to "tune" I believe as it allows for greater variance. Porting requires a more specific build to et the best performance.

Got to admit the fit of that box is pretty impressive. Will be stealing those measurements as might be required for myself.

Still needs some isolating off from the boot, and i'm still running a single bat (Fullriver HC65) and stock alt (90A) so burps are dropping voltage to around 11v (bad I know).. But these Vibe Black Death Bass 1's sound fan-f***ing-tastic!, Class GH ftw so so so clean! I'm thinking of building another box, currently the tuning is way too high which I knew before I built this one but I was desperate. I just didn't want to mess around with current false floor and batt mounting, plus I could still access the spare tyre.
