    Nerf Guns!!

Well seeing that the trend of Nerf weapons is growing at an exponential rate, along with the followers,
I thought id start a thread dedicated to thoes that have been sucked into its black hole of fun, and share stories, pics and details of modifications!

I have 8 in total so far, ranging from a pocket sized single shooter, all the way up to the Chain gun!

I have modded a few of them, some simple, some a bit more detailed, and will post up photos and in depth details of what was done, along with future purchases and mods!
Always going forward cause i cant find reverse!

I'll just leave this here. That is my current Nerf collection, along with 2 other single shot pistol ones (my favourites), plus 2 buzz bee brand ones and another I bought off the zazz site that looks like an M16.

2 Mavericks and a longshot, haven't painted the other Mav.

Would like to get the sniper one and the shotty and do a more realistic paint, the paintjobs i did there are a bit over the top with the damage, might sand them and try again.

reminds me of my mate... he has like 10 of them. He's about to mod his Vulcan to put a 9 or 12 V battery on it to make it fully automatic with a larger clip. Gonna be crazy

    My current collection

    Longstrike - Air restictors removed
LongShot - A/R removed, double springed (stock + Recon spring)
    Vulcan - As yet unmodded
    Stampede - As yet unmodded
    Barrel Break - A/R removed
    Alpha Trooper - A/R removed
    Recon - A/R removed
    Spectre - A/R removed
    Maverick - A/R removed
    Raider - A/R removed

My LongShot has a range of about 60ft, though it's currently in retirement due to the boltsled being covered in stress cracks from a combination of too much force from two springs and my dad dry firing it too many times. I expect it to shatter soon, luckily Orange Mod Works are bringing out the LongShot Immortal kit next month so I can replace it with an aluminium sled and add a third spring

ive modded my vulcan, joined 2 clips together and put a RC battery in it, i can get through the double clip in under 5 seconds! just have to pull it apart and paint it!

The Barricade RV-10 (second from the bottom left) instead of 3 AA batteries, it now houses a 9v battery, it shoots twice as far!

my black hand gun, ive pilled the pins and air supressors out of the canister, and jammed in 4 5c coins behind the spring! it hits alot harder and shoots further!

The Long Strike (sniper) im going to find a bigger spring and catch system, mod the darts then that should be quite powerful!

Take a look at these guys for kits http://orangemodworks.com/

It's better for the battery powered guns to convert them to the 4 high power AA's (14500 size 3.7V Li-Ion Rechargeable, unprotected versions) usually puts them up to 15v, any more tends to burn out the motors

The beauty of electric engines (moreso brushless) is that you can put as many bolts into them as you want and they'll simply continue to spin faster, the issues arise with brushed motors and wearing out the brushes and with heat.

Usually if you can dissipate the heat brushless engines can spin 60,000rpm +.

If you can find a way to water cool is run as many volts through it as you want.

I have a longshot with a kick ass spring, shot the right way goes about 50M.

It's so powerful It's inaccurate, I actually need to replace the barrel with a matching size piece of aluminum so it exits appropriately and the darts need to be weighted so they fly straight.

Even then continued use of the dart will see the foam bend.

Anyone wants it let me know. I stopped playing with it ages ago.

I just bought a longshot and a stampede, how do you remove the air restrictors on the longshot?
