91 Prelude - My first car

Just picked up a 1991 prelude si 4ws on Saturday. So stoked!

I've been looking at this generation prelude specifically for a good few months now after looking through a multitude of other cars (rx7 FC, early 90's volvo wagons, audi a4's)

After months of trawling through car sales and other listings, this prelude came up on ebay a week ago for $1200. An absolute steal.

    It's done 188,000k's
full leather interior - with a little wear
Charcoal Granite Metallic colour - amazing condition with a few tiny scratches here and there

Only thing I would have liked is a manual gear box, the auto will be good for commuting around, but it just isn't as fun.

Drove 3 hours to pick it up and it lasted the journey back pretty well.
It came with no RWC or Rego but it's in the shop as we speak getting the certificate.

Had a good going over of the whole car, everything seems fine. It's just in desperate need of an oil change.

So happy with it. It's going to become somewhat a little project to get her up and running and looking brand new. So watch this space

    Thanks for looking!

    ***little update***

So have a quiet week off uni before the last term kicks in, so I thought I'd give my little prelude a bit of attention and tlc.

The trip meter hasn't been ticking over properly since I bought her, and has been making the most annoying clicking sound every quarter of a kilometer, so I thought I'd take the dash/cluster out to have a look see...

Turns out one of the little cogs was loose. works like a clock now.

The ac unit and all the buttons for the sunroof/parking lights ect looked disgusting and moldy.
Ended up taking the little protective film off each of them and replacing it with a little cut out piece of iphone protector plastic haha.

You can see the result on the fan speed dial. Looks a lot whiter and pretty much feels like new again!

The leather is also looking a little worse for wear from the previous owners so I bought some conditioner and gave the interior a couple of thick coats.

    Before

    After

Looking a lot nicer now and feels much softer. Not a complete fix, there's still some really dry tears and the drivers seat but they'll need some more serious attention I think.

And lastly found the sunroof visor hiding in the boot.
I was pretty unsure about the look of it, I've always been a fan of clean lines on cars but after taking the visor for a drive, I can really notice a huge difference in wind deflection, so much quieter!
I think the look of it is growing on me too.

new exhaust and wheels in the not too distant future, so keep an eye out.

Na it's not an SiTCV, just the standard si. Drove in the rain today actually, the rear wiper would have been nice haha.

Just a quick question to anyone who reads this... Does anyone know where to get fog/driving lights for the 91 prelude? The OEM ones are pretty expensive so some aftermarkets would be perfect.

The guy I bought the car off had the same model/year prelude with a set of aftermarket fogs installed. He said he bought them for about $40 from a place like autobahn. might try my luck

Definitely not missing the meet, I live a minute down the road haha

    Just a little teaser.
As soon as some solid funds come into my pocket in the next few weeks i'll be ordering a set of konig heliums from the states.
Such a nice looking rim + very light apparently. I know there's the whole internet spam of this particular rim being easily broken and dangerous but, I don't drive like an idiot and all rims are fragile when it comes down to it.
