Cost of respraying the whole car in the same colour?

hi, i just bought a 5th gen prelude vti-r and it has small scratches on the font bumper and the drivers side door had been repainted a slightly different colour. i was just wondering if anyone knew how much it would cost to respray the whole car in the same colour?

As with everything, you get what you pay for...
There are places who will respray for about $1200.
And I was recently quoted $8000 to respray mine.
The $1200 job would be worth every cent, just like the $8000 job....

Yes, but at that price they start by stripping the car, removing all the glass, and fully prep every panel individually.

After paint, they put it back together with all new rubbers etc.

As I said. Worth every cent.

i got quoted $1700 for a full respray which included respray in 2pac polar white with pearl in base and clear , and bonnet/boot in jet black with pearl in base and clear , buffed all in a spray booth . but i had to rub the car down and remove front bar , side skirts , lights and remove exhaust . still not bad but going to do the spray myself with some help from my best mate who has sprayed his own car . sould cost $300-$500 to do it ourselves . good luck .

If you have access to an air compressor you could DIY for well under $1000. Though it may look like that when you're finished.

Get a few quotes, find out exactly what they include. Like pacman said, what is included for the price? Do you need new window rubbers? Do you want carpark dents in your doors fixed? Do you want those little dents pulled out or just bogged?

All these things will effect how much you should expect to pay.

Also do you need the door jambs and engine bay sprayed? Pulling your engine and the extra labour adds to the cost of the exercise too.

If you are and want it all to match best getting it all done at the same time if its a custom colour as it may be difficult to match the next time round.

    Thats my 2c.

seriously go down to the local panel beaters and get a quote. no one on here runs their own shop even if they did they would want to see the car, and it varies greatly from place to place.

Ive got some faded paint on my hood, which Im looking to fix up, along with a couple of other minor paint blemishes. Ive been hearing some good things about DT Panels in Springvale, who do alot of Jap cars, and I was speaking to Vu, the manager the other day. He was telling me that for around $3000 they can do a whole respray in the same colour. Presumably that would be without stripping the car apart, but if you were doing the same colour, you may be able to get away without doing the door jams and engine bay and so forth.

There have been a couple of photos on Skylines Australia of cars that have been done there, and they looked very good, although, I guess you would probably need to see them in the flesh to get a good impression of the quality. Still for you, it could be well worth visiting him and showing him your car so that he can give you a more detailed idea of what would need to be done and approximate cost.

If your going to get your car resprayed, look at a few places. just because one charges 8000 to respray the car, doesn't mean you will get an 8000 dollar job! but also in that matter, don't even go near someone that will do the job for 1200, unless you have had a chance to look at another car that has been done.
I went to a local group that stated they can spray the whole car for 1400... i thought that was a good price......8 weeks later and several times going back in for fix ups...they still cant get it right...AND thats after i ended up spending 4000 with them.
Always look at previous jobs they have don, both the cheap and the expensive companies, have a good study of the paint, find out alittle on the history of the company and their workers (may be alittle hard, but you want a painter that has been doing the work their for a while).
If you love your car, spent the money on it, it will be worth it!
Always going forward cause i cant find reverse!
