    My daughters' Prelude

Start of another thread from me following the build-up of my daughters' car that was originally bought for parts because of a suspected seized engine.
Motor has been torn down, hot tanked and honed waiting on parts to put it back together.
Head looks like it's been recoed recently so that's a bonus.
Very straight body with one small spot of rust and one dent thus the decision to paint it Jet Black

Is that an EB falcon? It has no place alongside the real cars!

Nice stuff, Jet Black would be great, one of my fav colours that suit the 3rd gen. Seems like you know what you are doing, do you mind me asking your experience with cars?

Flipmods, i've been interested in cars since I was 4 and from the age of 17 have had a hand in almost everything to do with car restoration as a hobby and i'm 49 now.
I've done hot rods, customs, even full restos.
I like to strip them down to the bare bones and create something a little unique.
For instance my daily driver is a worked 308 HZ panel van that's getting a satin black paint job soon, and recently did a satin black C200 Merc build for a guy
I've pored over as much info from all the Prelude sites and think the 3rd gen's are a future collector car, I think they're an awesome little car.
My kids are both old enough now for me to build something for them to drive, my daughter actually wanted an Austin A40 mini-rod but the Prelude came up and was too good to pass on.
I've got almost everything for it now so hopefully a couple of months it should be all done, specially now the weather is getting better

Nice stuff, looks like you got alot of experience behind you, you should post pics of your own car too. Satin black very nice. Just saw alot of satin cars at the car park at work, there is some sort of cruise or something going on, millions of dollars of cars and most of the cars a that are satin are not even painted, there is a new type of film they are coating the cars with and you can't even see the joins or bubbles, there was a satin gun metal range rover, satin white and black GTR R35 and even a Lexus ISF in some weird satin chrome.
Keep up the great work, sure we will see alot of nice custom work on these 3rd gens.

A few pictures of the weekend's work......almost ready for paint.
Still have to engine bay to strip out and undercoat so that will probably be next weekend's work.

Staying red? I've always been interested to see what a dark red metallic would look like on a 3rd gen... darker than the factory burgundy..

No Saki, going to spray it Jet black 2 pack because it's very good bodywise and that's what my daughter has requested.
I've been trying to talk her out of putting the boot spoiler back on and making a small lip spoiler instead so i'll see how I go

Sounds good The second gen had a little lip spoiler, perhaps you could start with that and modify it to suit?
