Arrow has any 1 done this? 5th GEN PRELUDE

    5th GEN PRELUDE..

Hey guys, ive had a keen interest in always getting a supercharged or turbod car when im off my greens in 1 year but im also curious how much a Supercharger kit + labour would roughly cost... what gains im expected roughly etc ? would any 1 happened to have done it in a 5th gen or know of how much it will cost etc ??

    your help is appreciated.

    thanks

I heard it's at least $5k to import a supercharger kit but I don't think you can buy em new anymore.
Not sure about what other prep work you need to do...

Was two for sale cheap recently. One local and the other in the US.

Is it worth it? Well if you want to super charge your Prelude, then that is basically it.

So supercharging or turbocharging a 5th gen is no different to doing it on a 4th gen. The engines are the same.

Check out my build or a few of the other builds on here - not much differs on any turbo honda really.

dont bother with the prelude unless u really love it. get the gtr, it will shit all over the prelude even after u supercharge or turbo it. i was in ur situation about 2 years ago, either turbo my 5th gen prelude or buy a sti or evo. my mate turboed his prelude and made 250kw atw. i went and got my evo (standard) and the evo destroyed it in every aspect

    what he said ^^^

Hence why if I do an N/A build for my prelude, it WILL be the F22A, its only because im into that sort of punishment, and because everyone tends to go for the H22/H23 when modding, not because its the best option.

    rough guesstimates if your too lazy to look at builds;
supercharger parts - $1.5-5K depending on blahblah
engine parts (for full rebuild) - $4k+ considering you'd probably want darton sleeves if yours is an FRM sleeve engine etc.
    ECU + other junk = another 2-4K

    then there are the unknowns!

    beware of overcapitalising $$$

'propeller' modding will give you a poor dollar value return > but especially so on a car that isn't matched up in the brakes/damper/suspension/drivetrain

I know of an R33 GT-R that is coming up F/S soon that is stock except for exhaust. It's just had it's full 100,000km service done. It won best R33 GT-R at a SnS last year and will sell for $21K - yes, it might be out-of-budget... but...

An EVO or a GTR will shit all over a supercharged lude, but its a matter of opinion in the looks department. Without meaning to offend anyone, I would rather drive a lude that can get beaten than a GTR/Evo/Sti.

...in which case, I'd rather leave the 'Lude as it is > unless one intends to go stealth (as it would certainly have its shortcomings on a track).

if ur sick of 4cylinder cars then why is one of ur options a s15?

if it were me, id take the s15 over the 32 gtr just because its newer. the 32gtrs are really old and tend to have alot more issues.
