Do you have any info on that manifold? What engine is it made for?

Made for a b20a5. It's just an eBay piece of junk, nothing special.

Removed condensor and all aircon lines/compressor in the red car.

Moved the Power steering lines back where the condensor used to be, with some grinding, bending and drilling.

Intercooler somewhat fitted too. Doesn't look great, but thats what the bumper is for .

you should mount that cooler abit better than what it is ? either on the metal wings near the pipe ends or get someone to tig up some mounting blocks . other than that that coler looks good . and nice and chunky

I said somewhat fitted. It's not finished yet.

edit: Oh and the pic is a bit deceiving, those loops are actually tight around the intercooler. I couldn't shift it easily if I wanted too.

Problems with what? I already measured the intercooler lines and they fit fine.

Cheers. I'm hoping it will turn out alright . Only time will tell. As for the charge pipe from the intercooler it will run Into the body right besides the intercooler, where there is already a fair size hole for some wiring. I know an ~90 degree angle like that probably isn't great, but it's the only way i can see to do it without making more extensive mods. Once inside the engine bay it will run right above the abs unit (I might get round to converting the car to a non-abs after all this).

Well I was hoping to have most of it done last weekend. But there's been a pretty big delay. The shop in America sent me the wrong manifold -_-. It's for a shorter engine, probably something like a B18. Comes up around 10-15mm too short.

Now I've got to take it to my exhaust place and see if they can modify it to make it fit, or I've got to send it back to the states and wait weeks for a new one.

So the only 2 parts they sold me that are custom made to fit a B20A5 (manifold and exhaust pipe) are both wrong. Awesome.

As predicted. They make this stuff in ignorance for the OTHER B series motors.
Hence our Bastard B status....Custom is the name of the game.

They do make the correct manifold afaik. They just sent me the wrong one. They specifically state a manifold for the B20A5.

Indeed. I doubt they know what they are talking about. Just a very strong hunch.
It's amazing the number of experts out there that don't know about the 3G & B20A.
People just assume they are the same as the other B series.

For what its worth. Here's a B20A log manifold in Australia. I believe the guy makes them, but it's an A/C delete job.
Look to the bottom of the page.

Good thing my Ac's already gone . I might give them a call and see how much. I'll plan a trip to my local exhaust mob and see if thay have these capabilites.

Thanks for the heads up. This might be why the ebay guy seems like he's stalling. He asked me to modify the manifold to fit, but it's so far off I doubt it's possible, and it can't really be welded being cast.

Thanks for the help bob . Your info is priceless as usual .

Had a look at that b20a manifold and its got no external wastegate, hmm. Have asked for a price anyway.

I've been having a look at this manifold I've got and can probably dremel away the edges so the ports line up and drill new holes. Problem is the ports will have an extra 10mm on the other side compared to the head ports. I don't really want to touch the head, and I imagine having a manifold with a port too wide (just on one side) would cause major flow issues.
