It's not too hard to prove postage either. If t was insured. Not a problem. If it wasn't then that must have been somebody's decision. Their fault.
Simply string them up by the balls, and use them as a pinata!!

    Problem solved. Nice and easy.

If the buyer doesnt ask for insurance then why should the sender do it? If the sender is nice enough to ask than good on them but it's ultimately up to the buyer.
I still don't think naming and shaming is a good idea.

How about what I suggested earlier in the thread.
Everything is done through the thread. Not PM.
(Everything except giving bank account details at least)
So people can see when an item is paid for, See how long it takes the seller to post. see when it's delivered.

Nobody being named or shamed then. Just the facts speaking for them selves.

That then means if you want to know something about someone you have to read all the FS threads just in case they are the buyer and also all their FS threads, and nobody does that.

If i was about to pay a considerable amount of money to somene who I didn't know. And had that sort of information at my fingertips. I'd read it. Not to read up before paying up would be stupidly lazy, and you'd virtually deserve to get stung.

yeah but most would not look through the history of someone's FS activity, which is why a trader rating system is a much better idea, one where you can write a bit of feedback if you wish.

That doesn't answer the question of an item arriving broken. "Hey this shit is broken wtf" "I dunno mate, must have been broken in the post" "BS"... How do you prove it was broken in the post? Look all i'm saying is that the name and shame system would be perfect in a black and white world, but a lot of the time there are grey areas when a sale goes bad. Trust me, i've had my fair share of investigating sales gone bad, it's NEVER black and white.

I've sold and bought plenty of stuff on PA, but this system would create a really bad vibe in the FS section and I for one would refuse to make use of it. Too risky.

If the admins are deadset on implementing it, i would suggest only naming and shaming repeat problem buyer/sellers.

yeah i have to agree with that, only shame people who repeatedly defraud their buyers.

i also think it would be a good idea if only premium members can sell and buy on the fs thread... im not saying this cause i want everyone to pay to use PA simply because it means that they are easier to talk to and contact because they are a paying member of this forum...
    No crap here SR love.

^^ While it would be nice if that were possible, the FS section would be pretty empty...

ebay rip people off everyday - at least the feedback systems lets you purchase off people with your "eyes open" to who you might be dealing with. look at it like that ratehr than a device to name and shame and it really has some merit. Maybe some sort of feedback for transactions maybe be worthwhile after the above post...

Well a trade rating system would have the same affect. You have a bad transaction, then you name and shame them

This thread was set up to gauge the interest of a naming & shaming system.

It was not setup to actually name members.
I believe it has run it's course. Thread closed. It will be cleaned up.
