Geez, you can buy a new set of nice black wheels for 150 each + resale of your rims... seems too expensive to me.

black looks pretty cool, gives it that nice stealthy look...

    but $150p/wheel is pretty dear...

i didnt realise it would cost so much to do something like that.... isnt there some way you could do part of the work yourself to do it cheaper

Is that $150 to powdercoat, or $150 to paint?

If its just painting then stuff that, DIY.
Apostrophes for plurals, Ashwee says no.

Yeah DIY anyway. Itll cost you $10 to get the tyres taken off and put on.
Go to autobahn and they can show you a paint list with swatches of like a million colours.
That will cost you $80 for the lot with primer, clear etc.

Yeh the $150 per wheel was for paint... I have 2 sets of these rims. So if i dont like it i can just swap em back. I'll give the DIY a try i guess. Theres a good write up i can follow which will make it really easy.. Might head down to Autobahn tomorrow. Thanks guys

And try not to go for just black. Ive seen cars with that and they arent head turners, they are kinda boring. Mix it up, there are a lot of shades of black. They told me they literally had 3 million colours on their computer.

MASSIVE rip off IMO. i got a quote from some powdercoaters here in vic. they said if i bring them just the rim they will strip, fix and re-coat for around 60 per wheel depending on the extent of damage. shop around mate.

what colour is your car? that plays a fair role in deciding the best colour i rekn

Yeh i will have a bit more of a shop around tomorrow before i have a crack at the DIY. My car is the dark green (you can see in the picture up top). I dont think its eucalypt green its the one thats a tad darker. I was thinking of going black rims with the center cap "H" painted gold to sort of match the cream leather interior. Will keep you posted on how i go tomorrow.

Black is pwning stock atm wow...

Yeh thanks for the kit Jdm_h22 Well i had a little bit of a shop around today and decided to do it myself. Only just finished stripping the paint off.. Will hit them with the pressure cleaner tomorrow to clean all the carbon outta the inside of the wheel well.

I am now thinking of maybe putting gold pin stripes or a gold lip to sort of match the interior. Will keep everyone posted. (Pic is of stripped rims)
