    QUESTION TIME

    What's you're Favourite Mod?
Favourite mod would easily have to be the WWRS. In my opinion there are a lot of very bad looking kits for the 4th gen however the WWRS enhances the lines without destroying them.

If you had your time to redo everything again what would you do or not do?

If I started again from stock id probably just go straight to the WWRS rather then muck around with other lips. Also I would probably do the suspension better, I get some pretty rude shock knock currently but that can be fixed by turning the music up really loud.

How long have you had the prelude for?

I have owned this car for less then a year, I think that makes me more proud of the work I have put in that I have managed to turn the car from a stocker to how it is now in a short period of time.

If you could have another Model Prelude - What would it be?

I have owned a 3rd gen and a 4th gen now so logic dictates it would be a 5th gen next. I think it would have to be a type s, I donít have a huge understanding of 5th gens but they do have the advantage of being a newer car and harking back to the days of the 3rd generation which is probably my favourite stock prelude shape.

How long did it take you to decide what Mods to do?

When I got the 4th gen I knew it was a JDM so I knew I didnít want to destroy it. I had a look at a few AUDMís and I think I would have taken a very different path with an aus spec however I loved the colour of my car and knew I just wanted to improve on what was there while keeping it a sleek and stylish look. From there I pretty much knew I wanted to do it right rather then the pretty poor effort I did on the 3rd gen. I took some direction from other memberís cars as to what kind of look I would go for, without copying it.

Where did you get your ideas? Where does my inspiration come from?

I like to start with a finished image in my head and work to it. I draw most of my inspiration from what I see on other cars and try to implement it on my car to achieve a look that is different to other cars out there. I think itís easy and boring to copy someone, so I try to take inspiration and then put my own personal touches on it. I like to think I achieved that with this car.

Did you do majority of the Mods yourself?

Not really no, I did the modification for the previous lips myself and a few other things but the majority of the more difficult things such as the wwrs that needed to be sprayed and fitted I had done for me. I donít have access to an extensive garage so the minor things I did and the more difficult things I handed the car over to more experience people for.

Do you have a name for your lude?

I have two names for the car, one is Kai which I am told is Japanese for ďoceanĒ on account of the colour, the other is Juliet because my number plate is JDM and in the International Radio Operators Alphabet J stands for Juliet.

What Mods did it have when you bought it?

The car was a bone stock car; it did have an OEM bonnet protector that is alas no more.

Has it been Dyno'ed? What's the result?

The car has not been dynoíed; I might give it a run just to see if PAVIC holds another dyno day.

    Next Mod?

Next mod will returning my custom tails to the factory items with the indicator cleared.

    Future Aspirations for Prelude?

I am winding the modifications up now, so basically as far as the future goes I just want the car to run trouble free and find a good home when it comes time to sell.

How do you find the police are towards your lude? Any stories?

I donít get any police trouble despite the lip kit and being as low as it is. I have been followed by the police for about 10km down Beach Road until at a set of lights they went past me and pulled over a stock white 5th gen. I drove past half laughing half thankful they didnít pull me over and check to see if my lights were working as my right hand halo isnít currently functioning.

Generally speaking I drive sensibly and am responsible. I have put a lot of money, hours and swear words into this car so I want to take care of it rather then just flog it for all its worth. I suppose I am lucky in that I have keep the lines of the car looking pretty stock (ie no big bodykits) so its kind of easy to over look it, especially when there are skylines sneezing their way up the road every other street.

Thanks guys, i really appreciate the support considering back end of august last year i was very very close to selling it so im glad people like what iv done with it when you look at where it was after the accident to how it is now.

Rickyj the aqua tags were actually on the wall which was great, someone clearly knew i was going to be there and presented a great backdrop

Peejayy thanks for the initial photoshoot, i still rotate those photos as my desktop background on a regular basis and im very much looking forward to the photoshoot from the last meet.

Love the kit, love the tailights - overall looks excellent. I guess the only thing i don't like are the wheels, the design is good but i don't like the matt grey colour (to me they look like they are in primer O.o)..

    Overall big though!

Congrats Tim! I've watched the car evolve over the time you've had it, and you've chosen your mods well. Def one of the class fourth gens on the site. Well done again mate.
