    QUESTION TIME

    What's you're Favourite Mod?

Right this very moment- I'm fairly obsessed with the V2 Intake, the noise is phenomonal. I still like the neons a lot, particularly if it's at a mates party, in the garage. Mobile disco y0!

If you had your time to redo everything again what would you do or not do?

I wouldn't have gotten the neons so soon. The sound system would be one of the first (as it was) then move onto suspension straight away. I'm fairly happy with the order I'm doing my mods though- almost everything took a lot of effort - I'm quite a compulsive buyer though.

How long have you had the prelude for?

Not terribly long, it was an upgrade after the insurance payout from my written off last car (Opel Calibra) - thankfully the accident was deemed the other party's fault and I was given a (horribly small) payout.

If you could have another Model Prelude - What would it be?

4th Gen is definitely my favorite (I'm quite biased there ) but if I had to have another, I'd want a Track spec 3rd gen with coilys, and maybe an engine swap/forced induction.

How long did it take you to decide what Mods to do?

I've never totally decided, I'm making it all up as I go along, there's definitely a lot of inspiration I've drawn from cars on this website though. I know that I'll never be able to look at my car and say to myself "It's finished, there's nothing else I want to do". Which is definitely a curse to the wallet!!

Where did you get your ideas? Where does my inspiration come from?

I've always had a fairly strict taste when it comes to modifying cars (re: my last car) getting the paintwork looking great, lowered, nice wheels, and a tint. God in heaven knows why I suddenly threw that all out the window and bought neons, I guess I just watched the fast and the furious too much Aside from that, I'm a big fan of subtle, but at the same time I want my car to be noticed. You won't be seeing me putting on an over the top bodykit on anytime soon.

Did you do majority of the Mods yourself?

When I bought the car it was basically stock, some things I've done myself (tail-lights etc) but I'm definitely not the best with tools and DIY'ing things, guess that'll come with time. I'm also impatient and would most often rather pay to have something fitted properly and quickly than try fitting it in between work and social life. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of doing something youself though.

Do you have a name for your lude?

It took me a long time to come up with a name, but in the end I settled on "Pandora". I think it's a hot name for a car/girl, plus it's got a bit of mythology involved, which I'm a sucker for. (plus when I put my foot down it opens Pandora's box y0)

What Mods did it have when you bought it?

The shortshifter, an Si dash... (Don't get me started)... that's about it.

Has it been Dyno'ed? What's the result?

Hasn't been dyno'd yet - Got my VAFCII sitting in my room, waiting for I/H/E to be finished.

    Next Mod?

Clutch started slipping recently, I'm getting a quote for an Exedy organic hd clutch tomorrow, as well as Koni Adjustables & Eibach springs.

    Future Aspirations for Prelude?

I'll be keeping her for a long time I think. I'll be racing her on track days and public drag days, and just generally have a lot of fun with the car. I'll be making / fitting a carputer hopefully by March, which'll be a lot of fun once in (endless posibilities)

How do you find the police are towards your lude? Any stories?

I'm fairly lucky when it comes to police. I've had my license a lot longer than most of my friends, yet I'm the only one with full points on my license. Granted, I probably get pulled over two or three times a month, but I can't expect any less when I've got neons turned on. We usually get on quite well though. The only story I can think of, was one night about 3 months ago I was down at the local park (in the large dirt/gravel carpark) with a mate in the passenger seat, having a little fun with the handbrake. Anyway after a few minutes I'd had enough hurting my car and we drove out back onto the main road. Turns out a police car had seen me leaving the park and pulled me over. She was asking me what I was doing in there, and for the life of me I just couldn't admit to doing handbrake turns in the gravel. I just tried avoiding the question and being quiet. I think I might've said we were just hanging out - to which she replied "Who the hell hangs out in a park at 3am on a tuesday morning". She was asking me things like "Were you guys in there smoking weed?" etc, she threatened to search the car, I said I didn't mind. In the end I had to admit I was in there quote "having fun in the gravel". She let me off straight away which was nice

The COTM isn't selected based on the votes in the nomination thread, it is a joint decision of the moderator team (although i'm sure the vote count has a small influence).

Congratulations Cam, you've done a great job on your car, very impressed with what it currently looks like.... you already have some top shelf pics on the site though, can someone move them from the progress thread!?

Looking forward to catching up soon mate!

Surely the votes need to be the dominating factor. And if a moderator decide to upturn the vote for good reason - the reason(s) should be stated.

    Congratulations Cam.

Hope you stick more to the stealth spec and less of the F&F spec.

That last photo is very sexy. Did you take it yourself, or get a pro? It looks rather professional!

Nice looking car mate! Happy motoring!

The last photo reminds me of The Transporter!

    Neons actually look good.
