Where did you purchase your Prelude?

Picked mine up in St Kilda, VIC 2 years ago, private sale. When i was hunting i knew i would never buy in tassie or QLD because the prices were similar...way to high! I kid you not, i would have payed around 5k more for my car if it were for sale in tassie the time at which i bought mine.

did anyone else take the time to scout out good deals and make more effort than search their own backyard?

i'm sure glad i did, my car is a gem

bought my lude from Mareeba, QLD. Only about an hour n a half drive from Cairns the town that i live in. Was advertised in the paper for $4500 (blown engine), he dropped it to $2500 over the phone so i went up and gave him $1500
    yes he was extremely desperate
its not the speed that hurts......Its the sudden stop......

yes and for much, much less than the 2k drop. $220 for 5th gen moonroof and i'll guess around $250 for the dent because i have a really good detailer/panelbeater who does me excellent deals.

i take it you soon dropped an engine in? which one?

when i saw my prelude i knew it was in excellent mechanical condition and its k's were reasonably low for a 1994 model, and i knew at least the dent would be a cheap fix.

so i didnt just get lucky, i knew what i was in for.

yeah. originally i was gonna get an Si cos the S was too damn slow, but dad didnt want me getting VTEC cos it was too fast, but when he saw how good a condition the engine was in and we'd been in melb for 3 days of a long weekend it was the last day and we'd already test driven a few we didnt like....he conceded and let me get it

Bought mine for a steal - $10K with 85,000kms on the clock 3 years ago. JDM VTEC model - however has no sunroof, no 4WS, no ABS, no cruise control - but got rear window wiper, electric folding mirrors, digital climate control...

It was advertised on carsales.com.au I remember.

    In Melbourne ofcourse

I don't know if this poll necessarily indicates where the best place to buy a lude is - but it will probably indicate which state has the most members
