Personally not a huge fan of the positionig there myself

If it were me, I would try and if them somewhere behind the smoked glass, but we've already spoken about the challenges you face with that

^^Edit: I posted before I saw Peejays post.

Cant you 4G folk, put it behind the glass of that ridiculously long cluster thingo

that way its completely stealth when the car is off. I see gauges in the a-pillar to attract way too much attention when the car is parked also. But isn't this an option? I believe many members have mounted LCD screens behind there, surely it can be done with a few gauges.
I already have an LCD behind the smoked section so that is not an option for me...

I'll continue to keep the pillar pod for now and see how I go.

Each to their own, but I'm not sure what you mean by 'detracts'. You're not really going to be driving with your eyes lined up with the steering column.

I put them there so I could actually see them with a simply glance down, like checking your speedo. Rather than having to look to the left if you put them behind the smoked glass.

OK guys check this out - latest on the turbo build

    DUMP PIPE!

    Welding skillz

This is where the wastegate will feed back into the exhaust.

Awaiting a 3inch pod filter! (thanks brad )

So we spent all day tack welding up the dump pipe and how its gonna flow around the block. It looks awesome. Jace is going to go away and purge weld the rest of it up now that we're happy with the location of the pipe. He's also gonna run the wastegate pipe around to follow the curve of the dump pipe.

We also fooled around and welded up a exhaust tip to another mate's commodore wagon for a laugh:

Justin's mate Jace is doing the welding for me but yes I will be doing the entire thing myself up until the tuning stage where I will have to take it to a dyno.

Just curious on why your going 3inch to 2.5 inch after the dump. Wouldnt 3inch straight through be less restrictive. Rather than trying to jam more air into a smaller pipe from a bigger one?..

Not trying too flame or saying ur wrong. Just wanna know =)

I already have an exhaust from the cat back which is 2.5inch - I dont really want to remake the entire exhaust.

I did it over on the passenger side - no relocation of any gauges. I have a 7inch screen and you miss out on about 2-3 pixels at the bottom of the screen (which doesnt bother me).

I will be updating the screen install later in this thread as I will be going to a VGA monitor soon with my in-car PC.

2-3 pixel is nothing.. sounds good.
im hunting down a second peice of tinted plastic as a spare so i can do a second screen in mine..have you cut the plastic, or put the screen behind it?

as for carputer... lilliput, or lilput...apparently they would be the brand to look at for those sort of solutions, they do various sized touchscreens, and even dual din touch, or sinlge din fold out touch screens, all sorts of neat stuff.
cant remember the comapany (sure there are a few by now) that actually have a mini pc case, that can be tucked away, and then that has a loom that hooks up to a single din flip out touch screen, and an AUX input/output box... very nice stuff.

PM me for all your car audio and other miscellaneous installation needs.
