Steve, I think you posted this in the wrong section, you're not pushing 25psi on a fully prepped engine! And you are not ready for the rush of nitrous oxide.. this is not your forum!

All jkz aside, looks really good man. All the best with it and hope the rest of the build goes smoothly!

So I matched some paint with the interior panel but the shop didnt have any texture paint. I was anxious to see the colour so I sprayed it to see what it'd look like...

It certainly is! and he's loving the gauge pod!

I took the gauge pod for a drive today - left it attached last night and test drove it on the way to work thismorning. All is good except for once annoyance.

Because of the thickness of the pillar doubling, it makes turning right more difficult because your vision out the right hand side of the car is lessened. You dont realise just how much you look out certain parts of the car windows unless you take that vision away...

I am really almost reconsidering actually having the gauge pod and gauges in this position.

The up side though, I have matched the interior colour pretty damn perfectly and looks really nice in the day time.

What do you guys think about the loss of vision?

^^^ I am the same, I was going to install some oil temp and exhaust gas temp gauges on my a-pillar, but a trial run left the same impression on me.

Its is very much in teh field of view, that i concluded that i would rather see the road than these stats of my engine. But your engine will be very worked, so maybe monitoring it is more of a priority to you.

But personally, it looks like it takes a fair bit of your FOV up and you dont want to have to deal with annoyances when driving... In the end its up to you, but i think it will annoy you too much to leave it there...

take a picture of your interior with your camera up against the headrest to give us a better idea.

Vision was one of the reasons I didn't put gauges on the pillar, also it's defectable to have them there in the ACT. They use the reason that anything that reduces your vision is an illegal mod.

So I went to made a pod over the steering column

thats neat. detracts a bit from the OEM cluster though. The actual gauges look super cool though

Cant you 4G folk, put it behind the glass of that ridiculously long cluster thingo

that way its completely stealth when the car is off. I see gauges in the a-pillar to attract way too much attention when the car is parked also. But isn't this an option? I believe many members have mounted LCD screens behind there, surely it can be done with a few gauges.
