Dude, you're probably not interested, but I still have the H22A and the H22A4.

I also have oil pans, cranks and lots of other misc parts if you want to pick them up for cheap. Let me know if you need anything and I'll see what I've got.

Any time now. I'll be home this weekend, or any night you feel like making the trip up.

    You interested in the blocks?

    ^ thanks buddy.

This is what I got done this weekend folks! Cleaned up the engine bay. Ian helped out big time with what we can and cant "tuck" in the enginebay. And boy the garage STILL smells like solvent degreaser...

Here's a before and after comparison:

    ^before...

^ after... I got carried away and tucked the engine!

A sneek preview of the kind of lines that will be run in the enginebay. Hopefuly I'll never get a leak/split pipe ever again with these quality braided lines...

The braided lines should do the trick, Just watch that they don't rub on things. With the vibrations in there they can wear through other parts in a flash.

Are those lines adr approved? And what fluid are you going to run? DOT? Just wondering...

Just going to run standard brake/clutch fluids.

Why would they need to be ADR approved? Its not like they're high pressure lines I'm replacing. The brake lines I've already replaced were goodridge ADR approved ones however.

Bob, I'll be making sure nothing has the freedom to move - I'll get some rubber protective clamps to tie everything down.

Why wouldn't you run something like DOT5.1 brake fluid in this beast?
I was just asking if they were adr or not. I know of a couple of places that see and take out the non-adr lines all the time so was curious.

Isn't DOT5.1 fluid illegal / non ADR approved anyway? Also I'm pretty sure the quality of DOT5 fluids degrades quickly and needs regular replacement... not 100% on that though. I believe thats why its not approved.

Yeah, these are just coolant/heater hoses and power steer and non-pressure lines so really I'm just replacing rubber hoses with braided stainless. I see only positives in doing this.

    Apart from my wallet anyway...

Much to Ian's dismay, the ABS is probably going to stay for now.

Yeah I know... I know... I just dont know what to do about it. There was never any warning lights on the dash etc about it, however I know something in my braking system is not functioning right. I had soft pedal feel but the calipers/MC/lines were all replaced/rebuilt.

Oh well, if by some miracle you solve it, tell me the answer!!! Hate soft pedal

For comparisons sake, try a hard brake all the way to the floor, unplug it, then do it again a couple of times. There was quite a dramatic difference in mine!

Not sure on the legallity of DOT5 fluids, I was going to look into this myself. DOT5 and DOT5.1 are different fluids. DOT5.1 is much the same as DOT3 and 4 but a bit better. DOT5 isn't as good I believe. I have a bookmark at home at the different fluids I'll post for ya. The lines I was referring to was the brake/clutch lines anyway as that's what your pic shows. Not sure about the others (coolant etc), seems like a reasonable idea though.

    What are they costing you?

Did some reading on DOT5.1 and it seems pretty good - I might give it a go.
It'll be a while til I get to putting fluids in it though!

Braided lines are damn expensive. I havent found a good retailer of it yet.

I found a shop in Caboolture that'll do all my brake lines fitted with new fluid etc for $400, comes in 4 colours too and adr approved. Sound about right? I was thinking of changing to DOT5.1 too at the time.
