    Thanks guys.

No pics yet, but the belts are all on and tensioned, the ECU is completely wired up now and she's getting mighty close to first start up.

We also worked out a sure fire solution for the charcoal canister piping (its a bit different to the stock setup).

And decided some work was still needed to sort out the reservior for the power steering. I didnt like the one previously purchase so I picked up a different one at a wrecker. All will be revealed when I'm happy with it.

Been following this since you started the thread almost 2 years ago, looking forward to seeing it get started for the first time! Just dont make it 2 years between the first start and getting it tuned and running reliably hehe.

Really impressive work, no expense spared and no corners cut, i wish every build was like that.

    Todays progress (still no pics).

Wired up my fusebox, sorted out the power steering lines for good, bought a Asus Eeepc so I can tune the car on the fly, I also went round and tightened a bunch of stuff up in prep for the initial start up.

She's so close now. Only a couple more things to sort out and its start up time.

Mine are the vtec ones. Found them on Amazon.com Finding a set of blue ones was the hardest. Most of them are red.

I really wanted the AEM ones but they're not producing them anymore.

The OBX ones are of excellent quality though. When you havent got a belt on them you can tap them gently with a bolt and it rings like a wind chime for 5 seconds!

    1/1/2011 - Happy New Year.

I turned it over today. Yes I finally got everything sorted out in the enginebay and turned the key. It turns over and starts for 5 sec, then dies.

Its likely an electronic issues (possibly with the timing/fuel mixture) but happy to say, the mechanical side of things seems to have no issues. No oil leaks, no fuel leaks, no coolant leaks so far.

Pretty happy with how things went today. And a big thanks to Ian - who came round today to help out while being hungover! and Scotty for giving me a hand with some tidy soldering once again.

Will take some photos tomorrow to show the things i've done.

I'm not going to be any help here at all,
But being a dumb ass RACQ dude, it sounds like an imobiliser issue.
I realise is almost imposible. But thats what it sounds like. i see this fault a lot on the roadside, and it's always an imobiliser.
I reaslise this is a massively different situation... But I thought i'd mention it....
