I should also mention - Ian was a MASSIVE help on Saturday - this guy is THE MAN. Seriously it was awesome - this guy just stuck out the whole day and said "now we're doing this" and "we should definately do this" and BAM! it was just done!

Thanks again for the huge help again...

Yeah they're available for quite a few cars - not sure if they're available for 3g ludes. Fairly common for Civic / Teg though.
I have a Neuspeed strut brace - I'd like a 3 point brace but there's nothing available for preludes and I dont think its that beneficial to fabricate one.

I like the neuspeed brace because it ties together the upper control arm mounts rather than the shock mounts. The geometry of the control arms is far more important.

As mentioned elsewhere, when it comes time for mod plates, we'll chat.

The workshop I used to work at in Rainbow beach can do most mod plates.
Ian and I are considering making a group cruise of it!

How much for a blue plate? I'm assuming he is very "good" at what he does if you know what I mean...

I dont actually want a dodgey blue plate... but I dont want it to fail because of some stupid little thing...

Thanks for the heads up - i'll certainly be hitting you up come time for the plate...

That thought crossed my mind too!
But alas, they will get covered up by the fenders...

I realised yesterday that it's been exactly 1 yr since the prelude was on the road... Last mother's day I was loading the car onto a tow truck and taking it to my mechanic...

I've almost forgotten what it looked like with the front bumper on.

You can see the little leads running to the tweeter voice coil and although it was not physically broken, testing the lengths of the leads with a multimeter discovered that sections of the leads had broken in the life of the tweeter.

I snipped the leads short close to the voice coil and soldered a new strand of copper to the leads. Then glued the diaphragm back in place with some model making glue.

To my great excitement it works! I was really happy.
I'd just like to add, that soldering to a tweeter voice coil requires really steady hands, something that neither of us have, Somehow we managed to get it done.

This little beauty really packs a punch, at the end of the day, a very clean sounding system. Considering picking up a pair of these myself for when i pull my finger out and finish my system.

haha, was not my intention to imply that you're short, it's actually a quote from a movie.

Ian, stop pickin on the little fella! It ain't his fault he's vertically challenged! LOL

Anyhow. My mate wouldn't do a dodgy. But I doubt any of us would need a dodgy?
What he has to offer is the fact that he's a good mechanic, who's not going to be a pretensious wanker!

Wrong type for you though bradley... I have a spare X type SPX177a, you require an SPX177r to match your system...

You've got the china made ones.

However - you could probably repair the woofer if the same thing as what happened to my tweeter happened to you...

So tomorrow I've got a guy coming around to take a look at the car and make me up some aircon and power steering lines.
I did a quick shed tidy up and mocked up the intercooler/fans/condenser/radiator and pipe work....

    Enjoy the pics.
