The reason I ask is because my fidanza flywheel may have timing marks that I never noticed... I'm relatively sure that it doesn't have them. I'm curious as to why they would have marked some and not others?

Did the flywheel bolts come as a set from ARP? If so do you have a part number for the set?

The flywheel bolts are the same as B series flywheel bolts from ARP. Be sure to get some ARP moly-lube before attempting to install.

Cheers. My fidanza has sat in it's box for over a year, I couldn't justify the $600 odd dollars in labour to split the gearbox off the engine just to change the flywheel. I've soon got to do a major service including all belts, tensioner, crank seal, cam seals etc. so it seems as good a time as any to lift the engine and do the lot.

Are the marks on your flywheel stamped or laser etched?

They're just grooves cut into the flywheel. Fidanza recommends balancing the flywheel with the clutch/pressure plate before installation too. As you can see by the little drill holes, mine's been balanced.

OMG the engine's in and it RUNS!

Just kidding. We test fitted the motor today. Decided to bolt up the gearbox without clutch so it could be installed to see where I should plumb my intercooler piping and what modification was required to the cross members with the turbo dump pipe being so big.

I need to grind a small section out of the front crossmember to properly clear the dump pipe. It shouldnt make any difference to the rigidity.

I also have to cut a hole in the section just below the passenger headlight to run my intercooler pipe.

All in all, a sucessful and ****ing hot looking test fit!
