Good stuff, when I did mine each sensor had the plug connected so all I needed to do was make the harness and solder up the plugs. But when I converted my cluster to EL I had no plugs. Several trips to the wrecker sorted those out but it was a bit of a PITA.

I think Mark is the only one crazy enough to have converted the ENTIRE wiring loom to JDM!!

So I started tearing down the dash / interior in preparation for this weekends install of the jdm climate control and a few other JDM goodies I've had around for a while.

Here's some photos I'm really not proud of. Check out the laziness when I did my stereo install. I just jammed wires/components wherever they fit. But hey, that was more than 5yrs ago now. It was more important to get hektic mad beatz with fully sic sounds than it was to get the wiring neat!

    On with the pics.

The car is also gonna get a fresh carpet (with hardly any wear) and I might even feel the urge to do the floor / rear quarters in sound deadener before putting everything back.

So I assume the statute of limitations on dodgy wireing is 5 years or less.
Thats good news. Cause I think we've all been guilty of that at one time or another.

    Correct. I'm a nerd.
Remains of a previous CarPC project. The screen's actually still visible in the right hand corner of the dash (behind the perspex).

A screen upgrade is coming. I have a VGA one sitting in a box next to me right now... This also explains why there's probably more wiring than your average audio install.

Yeah we sure have. I think after 5yrs you feel so guilty about it, you pull it out and redo it...

I'm sure everyone has a bit of dodgy wiring somewhere.

If all of the terminations are done correctly, correct cable sizes are used and provided there is no potential of starting a fire or damaging your equipment then It's just messy.

After all it's your car and no one has to sign off on your work

Yeah there's no potential fire hazards. Its all just messy.

I'll be most likely doing the car in flashtac. Its basically dynamat without the pricetag imo. This weekend we'll probably pull the climate control and make up a harness for it. Not sure how much time that'll leave for doing sound deadening.

But you're welcome to come round anytime Scotty.

nope, i'm a bit anal about wiring.

Looking good, should make it alot easier to tidy things up and get the CC installed with all the insides out.

when i was putting my sound system in my car was sitting in the drive with the cover taken off the centre to put the head unit in. dad walked past while i was at work and saw the wiring that whoever owned the car before me had done and thought it looked crappy so redid it all properly with his crimper. its lovely and neat now

Oh its nothing to do with the terminals, they're all fine. Its just the way the wires are run thats extremely messy.

Anyway, I did some more on the car tonight - the bloody alarm was the most appaling install I've ever seen. It was just ziptied up and held with its own wiring against the stock harnesses. No wonder it always fell on my feet while I was driving!

    On with the pics!

    Whats missing?

Pretty sure stuff is sposed to be here...

    Oh there it is...

    moar!

Man, that would've been a pain to pull out dude... wow!

I'd be attacking the dash with felt tape in case there are parts that squeak/rub against other parts of the car
