So, the condoms.. err seatbelts are now installed.

I had to remove the seats so I could install them. I also realised while the seats were out that I hadnt installed the buckles on the seat rails.
Took the opportunity to access the back seats to clean up everything back there.

Its ready for the rear interior side trims to be installed, and then throw the seats back in for good

I have an odd electrical issue relating to the indicator/headlight/wiper stalks. Its like all of it is unplugged under the dash. Thing is, its all plugged in.
Wierd scenario, and once its sorted out, I'll be able to take it for a quick spin down the street. Cant wait.

I'll NEVER look at my seatbelt in quite the same way ...

So I definately made some good progress on this sucker this weekend.

    1. Found the problematic wiring - turns out I'd plugged the wrong plug into the under dash fusebox. An identical socket goes up to the dash for lighting/display. Stooge.

    2. Tidied up the interior / installed everything then did some headlight wiring work.

    Enjoy the pics:

As I love to get everything just right, I decided to make a bracket to mount my free floating charcoal canister.
So here it is welded on

BTW most of the uglyness of the paintwork is body deadening and seam sealer.
Once the guard is on this cannot be seen.

So yeah, I'm up late, but I want to show off my latest little project. I've been putting this off for a while now, but I got the need to do it seeing as the cooler pipe got in the way of the backs of the indicators.
I converted them to LED's sucessfuly tonight. Here's some pics.

Did them in an arrow format just for kicks!
Used casting resin to weather seal the electronics.

Cut the backs out of the housings - scary part.

Epoxy glued the led's to the back of the housing.

Here they are all lit up.
There's 30 LED's in each housing. I used a couple of 10watt resistors to reduce the current to them, and a resistor in parallel to give the indicator circuit the same draw as a bulb would.

Flashers are almost perfectly timed with the stock speed. They're slightly faster (which is fine by me).

    Enjoy.

Actually the women of the house seem to just get pissed off because my projects end up happening on the kitchen table.
    But thanks... I guess?

Did you buy one of those "easy bulb replacement" LEDs? In my opinion they're not bright enough at all.
And yes, there's a legal requirement for the flash rate of indicators, as well as a legal brightness so you could get picked up on it...
