its a thinner oil, hence the internals are more free to move, lubricated but not held back by thicker oil.

eg would be using oil as opposed to grease inside your engine...

not the same but you get the picture. the oil flowes more freely so the engine moves more freely, its a small small difference, id use whats recommended but as long as the oil is topped up and reguraly replaced than all is good.

Nulon hi-tech fast flowing 10w-40. bout $60-$70 for 5 litres
but its the lifeblood of an engine so im willing to spend a bit extra.
ive only done about 1500 k's with this oil so cant vouch for it yet

    Just a quick question guys...

Around 950km ago my dad changed the oil in my car (H22A) to a 25W-50 oil.

I know this is the wrong type of oil but is it harmful to the engine itself? Should I change the oil now or wait till my normal 5000km oil change interval?

Hmmm now then thats some heavy oil 25w - 50w is really really heavy, but on the plus side if your engine has muck in it it wont anymore lol clean it up real good lol

I would change it asap just becouse i would be worried the heavy oil is putting stress on the internals but thats just me.

98 vtir atts 120,000 car does not drink oil at all

honda oil is crap doesnt last long in a car that actually gets revved and yes it is another companies oil with honda sticker on it, think its castrol by memory.... tried motul 300v waste of $150 imo now i am trying royal purple for a change and at $80 for a full synthetic seems like a decent price. only done one tank on royal purple but engine is 100% running smoother than it ever did with honda oil.

and yes i religously change oil and filter every 5000ks

oh and my dads lude is an 00 auto and he doesnt drive it like a madman. uses magnatec changed his oil the other day after he had done around 9000ks on it 6 months use for him. seemed excellent, compared to the honda oil i pulled out it would have passed as brand new.

    Honda oil - crap
Motul 300v - meh not enough of a result
royal purple - ...only done a tank....
Magnatec - seemed really good under normal driving conditions
