    how much would it cost to weld an exhaust on?

    hey guys, i just got my new exhaust 2day and it came with brackets etc alrdy welded onto it. anyways i called up this exhaust place and they quoted me $100 for them to hack off my old muffler and weld this new 1 on. does this price seem a bit steep? if so how much should i be expecting?

    $50-100 depending on how much involved.

    all that needs to be done is, cut off my old muffler and weld 3 spots

    $50 should be the going rate.. but again, places r gonna quote you a lil more until they physically see what exactly is involved..

    I had cat to muffler replaced on my gen 3 for $80, nothing special just replacement piping but yeh, should be bugger all.

    you could even get probably midas to do a job like that. they did a job once i think it cost about $60, a few years back though for welding on new piping to the axle back and installing the muffler. ask around, but $60-100 would be reasonable...good luck

    If you want to get it cheap, take it to the back of the shop and see the apprentice people will do it lol, and don't take it to the front to get it done.

    My cousin reckons he did this and got it done for 30 bucks lol...

    Id say thats about right..... I paid about $450 to get my cannon cut of and whole new piping, Resonator and tips put on from the cat back.

    thx guys just got home from gettin it welded on cost me 70 bucks, ill post picks later, but just a Q the exhaust sounds pretty damn nice low end until i hit bout 4k revs then it sounds like total crap, sounds like a whiner lolz and it actually gets softer in noise level wen vtec kicks in. is there any way to get the vtec louder? ive got a cai with the resonator removed so no need to mention that, but will changing to an sri help? any suggestions would be great thanks heaps guys
