    Required:

    ? x Neons
? x Inverters (same amount... should come with the Neon, provides the correct voltage to it)
? x Metres of wire (~16 gauge should be fine)
? x Metres of electrical tape
    1 x Multimeter to check voltages/currents/etc [Not 100% necessary]
    1 x Soldering Iron
    1 x Roll of Solder
    1 x Box of connectors/Crimping kit
    1 x Crimper

Basically you have a few options...

    * You can wire them up directly to your battery, with an inline fuse between them, and a switch... so you can turn them on/off at will...

    * You can wire them up to behind your cigarette lighter socket, if you don't use it, in the same way as above...

    * You can wire them up, using a relay, to your accessories, so they turn on/off with your headlights/parkers...

Basically all you do, is connect the +ive wire of the neon to the +ive wire of your battery/cig lighter/accessories... and the -ve wire of the neon to some grounding point in your car (bolt located on the chassis, a wire that is grounded somewhere, etc).

If you are unsure of what you're doing, I suggest you get someone else to do it... otherwise read through these guides for a VW and take note of what he actually did... be very very careful though, as if your car has airbags - playing around with the electronics/circuits inside could set them off if you do something wrong.

thx.. .. and also for quick response.. ill give it a go but those fuses one looks damn complicated.. most likly hook the neons to the ciggy port ..thx agen ppl .

BTW dont u need a inline-fuse ? .. the fuse that goes before the switch.. iunnos correct me if im wrong

could u use the ciggarette port for the ciggarette thing still even thou its used for neons? ..

A lot of PPL have done this and there is great writeups on it (like db's) so I don't know if your interested but I used LED arrays instead of neons and built a controller for them that senses the current to the interior light. That way they would come on only when the doors were opened.
In the controller I built in a 2 sec delay so that when the doors were closed they stay on for 2 sec and then fade out to black.

I'm sure it has been done but I wanted to do it myself. (theres nothing like DIY ) and also it is automatic which I like cause I'm lazy.

Anyway here is a small vid I took of the result.

Sorry if you couldn't see the vid, anyway here is a pic...The passenger side LED array is screwed in right next to the screws that hold the glove compartment in place and the leds are faced towards the firewall (the led's are pretty bright and the light fills the foot wells)
The drivers side was a bit harder, I ended up drilling two holes in the plastic that covers the "underside" of the steering column and cable tying it in.

Looks ok and you can't see the led arrays even if you look in to the car from a distance. Just a blue glow.

man it aint that hard lol.

i found the best way was to cabletie the neons to something as bolt locations are shite in 4th gens

then you only get them when the bootlights on.

depends what you want them for.
if you want them on when the doors open the hook them up to the certacy light in the door.
if you want them on when the lights are on hook them up to the tail light fuse.
if you want them on when you want them on hook them up direct to the batter with a switch and a relay.
its up to you...but i cant see the point of the bootlight.

i got mine hooked up to the tail light fuse so as soon as the tail lights come on the neons come on.
the ones in the foot well, the ones on either side of the shifter and the one in the guage cluster.

the ones on my sub box are hooked up to the boot light though.
cause you can only see them when the boots open.
A completed modified car is an ever changing goal that can never truly be achieved.
