Does anyone know the difference between these two.
Does anyone know the difference between these two.

99-01 has 4 or 5kw (i cant remember exactly) over 97-98 model.
the Z was "extra" h22 motors produced.
they are the same engine.
the z was used in the euro Rs and the last of the preludes.
basically there were say 100 h22as produced, once reaching the end of the preludes years they realised oh crap we will need more h22s, so they created an extra 20 h22zs which they then also decided to use in euro Rs

Yeah they were used for the last batch of cars, they were originally spare blocks, for replacements, etc... but they ended up whacking them in late model ludes, and the Euro R's.Originally Posted by CUL8R

Thanks guys. Been wondering this myself.
So will everybody know what I'm talking about when I refer to H22Z Power?
Well those in the know will, but technically you should still call it an H22A, a minor revision of the same engine design doesn't really count as being that different...Originally Posted by brash22

Kind of offtopic, but I'm getting new plates soon and I was tossing up whether to have them say H22A or H22Z... H22Z just looks a bit weird on a plate i reckon, i.e. Z is too similar to 2

but z will make it look newer...

H22A will be known to all manner of Honda nuts, but H22Z will probly only be recognised as being clever here.
i seriously considered getting BB6-H22A for mine, since it's a sort of clever plate that would not only look standard but is too hard to remember. One of the things I've always had against custom plates is that they stand out so much, ie in the case of the Lamborghini I saw the other day "NO RUSH" etc.
General Honda enthusists will probly see H22Z on your plate and think "dickhead, there's no such thing..."
Just my opinion.
Interesting that you noted that actually.. I remember years ago I posted on a particular honda forum asking about the h22z before I purchased it to swap into my car - the fools actually said I was lying and photoshopped it... dickheads.

luke, i would get h22a not z... for all the above reasons - h22a is more recognisable...
