I been reading up about these rotors, there are mix reactions (prob. from those who has never have them on before making useless comments). So what i want to know is, people who has them on. What are your thoughts on them. Both goods and bads. :side:

RH is the one to speak to. I think he still has a relatively high opinion of the RDA's although he now has DBA.

I have had DBA Slotted on my 3rd Gen before and they are fantastic, never had a problem with them at all.

I got RDA slotted on my 4th Gen VTiR and they have been ok as well, but they developed a slight warp in them, which is due to me punishing them too much.

I have now switched to DBA 4000 Series Slotted. The are the best DBAs you can get for the 4th gen, the 2 piece designs aren't available for the Preludes. They have been fantastic so far. They are a track oriented rotor, so they come heat treated and stress relieved which gives them resistance to fatigue/failure when used at extreme temperatures. They also have heat bands on them so you can check what temp range your rotors are running at. The cooling vane design is unique and the rotor seems to work very well.

This thread has my write up on the rotor http://www.preludeaustralia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26102

Yeah DBA i heard hardly any bad comments about them. But they are too expensive for 5th gens.. cost over $200-250 each... abit heavy on the wallet if i was to replace 4 rotors. Where as RDA are between $200 a pair. Plus i hardly push my car hard as i used anymore, just daily driving now :)

I was just at the brake shop, getting my RDAs machined ($15 each) so I can use them again. I have to send the DBAs back because they have developed a judder at 100kph when I press on the brake pedal lightly.

The RDA will be ok, but they won't like track duty too much. I am hitting Sandown raceway in Feb, I think I will end up doing that with the RDAs so I don't ruin the more expensive DBAs

interesting..... u reckon the dbas fault is just a one off? i think ill go RDA n see how i go for a while.. can they be used for front and back duties? if so, later on id just move them to the back if they started warping.

The juddering is probably a one off fault. You can't swap the front to back, they are completely different in size.

The RDAs lasted me a year of punishing driving, they will be fine for you. Just make sure you break them in properly and torque the wheel nuts up evenly with a torque wrench.

Well, crap.

And now they have to go back to DBA for analysis and hopefully replacement.
