Hi all,

I am looking at getting some 17x7" rims for my car, however they are +40 offset...now i read through the guidlines and it states that "+38mm to +41mm ::: Not Recommended if you are, or plan to be, lowered. You take the chance of rubbing the outside lip of the wheel well."

does anyone have rims approximately the same offset on a 4th gen? Is there really much rubbing or anything? Does anyone have pictures? Does anyone think there would be a problem with these rims? It says you take the CHANCE so it must only be close

how do yyou find out the offset, i have a set of 17x7.5s on mine,. and they stick out pretty much to the edge of the guards, so i hope when i lower it, they dont rub :s

it should be written on the rim somewhere.

If you get a 40 profile tyre and dont lower it too much you should be ok.

I had both 45s and 40s. 45s were fine except sharp corners, 40s scrape over minor road bumps with passengers.
